Future Gamez has confirmed that Ubisoft is working on a new Prince of Persia title for the Nintendo DS, but it doesn't appear to be another card battler like last year's Battles of Prince of Persia.
GamingUnion.net: It's not news that the handheld scene sees a plethora and over-saturation of games that hit the market. Most of them aren't that great and the good ones are really quite far and few between. Ubisoft is easily one of the more notable publishers that constantly fart out really shoddy handheld titles, most of which are usually movie tie-ins or mere after-thoughts of the big boys on PS3 and Xbox 360.
There are some good titles, but they are far and few between. It's a shame, really.
Bloodlines was really bad. It had the potential but I think Ubi dropped the ball with it.
It's because generally handheld games are spinoffs of console games, and spinoffs often suck the big one
The PoP games on the PSP are actually really good. The sound issues that were reported on the reviewed UMD versions aren't present on the digital versions at all.
A look back at the history of the cult series, which is now 20 years old.
I had 'The original Prince of Persia' it was an awesome game, still want to play it today. Didn't know until now, Prince of Persia shares it's birthday with mine :D
One of the best game series's to come out in the history of gaming.
There have been many princes of Persia since the original game was released nearly 20 years ago, and although they've ranged from noble romantics to angst-ridden bad boys, they've all shared a gift of tremendous agility. In conjunction with its new console reboot of the Prince of Persia series, Ubisoft has brought the graceful monarch to the DS in a side-scrolling adventure that can be thrilling when the intuitive touch-screen controls work as they should. Regrettably, for every thrilling moment the controls deliver there's a frustrating one, too, and this normally agile prince takes a few too many clumsy steps.
The Good:
* Well-implemented touch-screen mechanics
* Good level design
* Swordfighting is simple but fun
* Impressively smooth animation for the prince .
The Bad:
* Controls can be frustratingly imprecise
* Bland storytelling
* Dull, predictable boss fights
* Frequent slowdown.
Last on sucked, hope this one isn't as ridiculous.
