Is there any hope for Borderlands fans waiting for sequel? Yes.... RAGE.
Pete Hines is retiring from Bethesda Softworks after 24 years.
Im glad he leaving. Bethesda has been terrible under his leadership. Redfall, Starfield, Fallout76 and the list goes on an on. His leadership style is outdated. Hopefully, MS bring someone in that knows what they are doing.
I interviewed at Bethesda once, and while there were some very smart mid level team members, the upper ranks (EP/VP/Studio Head) were a total boys' club. The Madmen series ego in that lunch was stiffling.

Pete Hines was against locking out the majority of their console playerbase (ps gamers). Probably disgusted at the hypocrisy of white knight Phil assuring PS gamers that they can still play COD. Acquisition goes through, Hines goes out.
Goodbye Pete.
i wonder if he was asked to leave.
im pretty sure not everyone was on board with the acquisition.

This sounds awesome. This afternoon, Genvid Entertainment announced two, all-new interactive streaming series at San Diego-Comic Con: DC Heroes United and Borderlands EchoVision Live.
I can see the resemblance, but honestly Rage looks like the mean cousin of Borderlands with no sense of humor.
Hopefully Rage won't suck if you play it alone.
I pointed out yesterday that this reminded me of borderlands but on a grander scale, the agrees and disagrees were about the same. If you look at the plot then you can't help but be reminded of fallout and to an extent borderlands.
I thought that it was like borderlands because it has a certain look which just reminds me of it and the fact that it's a shooter/rpg, plus the vehicular travel and the ninja star like thing reminds me of the bloodwing in borderlands.
Overall though it looks like it will come up trumps over both fallout and borderlands judging from the gameplay videos so far.
"RAGE is the successor of Borderlands?"
No.
What makes Borderlands "Borderlands" is the humor and loot. This game has neither from what I can tell. It also doesn't have the RPG elements that Borderlands has(skill-tree's and character progression.) Rage still might be a great game(or better, who knows) but has no business being compared to Borderlands and vice versa.
(Hell, does this game even have co-op!? Or PvP?)
Borderlands is basically Diablo in FPS form.
Rage, from what I've read, is more like Bioshock in gameplay wise. Limited number of weapons, ammo types, crafting, mini games, and swallow RPG elements. And there's no loot or classes.
