An anonymous source told Gamasutra this week that Crysis developer Crytek will lay off 30-35 workers at its Budapest studio, which will purportedly switch from work on an Xbox 360-exclusive Kinect game to focus on tablet titles.
MovieStinger: "Microsoft started their media briefing off strong today showcasing titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Gears of War 3, there was even a new look at last year’s Codename: Kingdoms, now renamed Ryse, which will run on the powerful Crytek engine (Crysis) and use Kinect’s motion technology. Unfortunately, like the Miami Heat in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, Microsoft’s briefing quickly started to fall apart towards the end. That is, until they debuted Halo 4..."
TechNoid writes: "Microsoft accidentally leaked their E3 line-up, which features the mysterious Ryse. But wait, wasn't Ryse registered by Crytek?"
I think it's already over stayed it's welcome. It can disappear again and never surface again for all I care.
It looked good, but it was too short, and didn't it look like another rail game? I was hoping that it would use kinect to a minimum.
Waste of an 'excusivity contract' with a big name dev if you ask me. Expected so much more from this.
GameDynamo - "The Electronic Entertainment Expo is a show on par with some of the most sought after trade shows in America, showing us all how far video games have come in the last decade. One of the heavy hitters in the show is, of course, Microsoft. It might seem as if there isn't a whole lot in store from the software giant other than Kinect games, but we've been surprised before, so we might be surprised again. So far, there are a few confirmed and rumored titles we've gathered from various sources that Microsoft followers should keep on the radar."
I'm hoping for new exclusives and IPs, but I fear most of their offerings will be Kinect shovelware. ¬_¬
Codename: Kingdoms is a FPV kinect title?
That is quite the unexpected turn...
The question now is wether it's exclusive to Kinect or a hybrid game.
Considering they didn't mention Kinect support when it was announced during a Kinect heavy E3 I'm guessing it will be a hybrid game.
hope to see more at e3
first person melee kinect game???
makes no sense.
i'm calling this article FAKE.
it's most likely a third person action game with maybe some type of optional kinect element.
maybe you can switch to first person on kinect?
It better be a hybrid game i am getting tired of all this kinect shit. Now i am really angry at myself for buying an xbox 360 instead of ps3
