Spot the difference: Lost Planet on PS3

CVG have the first screenshots from the PS3 version of Lost Planet, which is due to release in early 2008.

I be disappointed if the ps3 didnt look slightly better than the 360 being the 360 version came out early on in the 360 life span and the devs have had over a year to tweak the ps3.

Frankly I don't give a sh!t, the game looked cool when I play the demo.
Whether I pick it up new or used doesn't matter to me, I am not being paid to be a mindless minion of any console unlike a lot of people on N4G it seems.

its a game that is put onto the ps3 with no improvements at all, its comming with all the 360 downloadable content on disc...so what? it doesn't look any better then the original game, and I've yet to hear any thing to say its gonna have new stuff exclusive to ps3.

I have the game for the 360 purchased it when it launched, and its how old now? a year and a half old? whats the point of that? my comment is not fanboy based its gamer based, How can they expect any one to purchase an year and a half year old game that will not look better *by those screens* then the original and will come with nothing you cant get on the other version.

I can get lost planet for 20 bux right now, and download the maps on 360, or i can pay more for the new ps3 version thats the exact same way.

@ will, all the reasons you gave makes me think that this game wont sell very well on the ps3. I had it on 360 and i hated it. Also sa a ps3 owner i feel insulted that they would try to sling us a half dead A$$ port. I think most ps3 fans would agree. I would have taken Dead Rising instead.

Why do you guys even dare to comment in here ? This is a PS3 news release. Two criteria which wouldn't apply to you: 1) you guys play 360. and 2) you have already played it.

As for that...last I checked I owned an ps3 too....
Put it this way, Lost planet will suck on ps3 because its an old game and its not looking any better on the ps3, has no exclusive stuff for ps3 as of told yet, and will cost pretty much the same amount of money.

the only 2 games i had on the 360.
my point is lost planet is a buy 4 me on ps3
its a good game.
plus i didn't get a chance 2 finish it
so ill finish it now.

Their thought process is backwards and frustrating. PLEASE cancel Lost planet for the PS3 and put it toward a better project for the PS3 (MH3 Maybe) that would benefit the user base that you want to buy your games, not insult them.

...considering the 360 version is around $40, and will probably be a platinum hit by the time the PS3 LP hits. Lost Planet had the ingredients for an awesome game, but something just made it fall apart for me. Nice to see the IP hitting the PS3, but it's still a slap in the face to PS3 owners that we didn't get this sooner. Also, where's Dead Rising?

cannot see a difference. One thing i can say about this game is the explosions are awesome, the smoke effects that come pummeling out of a barrel being blown up is awesome. I think this game will sell ok, but i think it will sell really well in Japan due to no the limited Japanese fanbase on the 360 but this will increase it for the PS3. It is a good game, the controls were a little strange with the aiming and stuff, but i think Capcom made a good choice porting it over.

Do not come close is pretty silly, considering you've played only one of them on a demo(r&c) and maybe the Demo of UT3 on pc.

come on, the only real difference is that we will have to hear horrible voice acting in high Def.
Also, dont forget the all to familiar "Port Bugs" like Skate. and any other port from the 360 to the PS3 have.

These are the games that sell to the masses, shooters are popular. Sony 1st party and 2nd party developers are rounding out the new IP's like LBP, EOJ, Uncharted, etc. Now if you look at it from a gamers perspective, if you get most of the games that are on the 360 along with content that you wont find on any other system its a win, win for the consumer.
I myself won't buy this game, but there are people who will, and people who want to play this game. Its all about catering to a wider audience. I believe this is what will make Sony dominant this gen.
Just like reruns of Seinfeld, they might be old, look dated, and I might have seen them all but they are entertaining, and there is always someone who hasn't seen it.

At the 2007 LP release, PS3 won't have a better shooter.
Even with Halo, there are still a lot of X360 players fixated with Lost Planet. It sold over 1 million copies on the X360 platform--you don't get those kinds of sales numbers for a 2nd rate game!

What the hell are you talking about Lost Planet came out January of "this" year that would make it "nine" months old where do you get a year and a half from, it's also a great game and will be a good addition to the ps3's lineup. hmm.. many people don't have a 360, so to get this game on PS3, with all the extra's, and the PC extra's that arn't available to 360 owners, can only be a good thing for them.

However, its certainly not the most exciting news Capcom could have given anyone.. it will be a year old by the time PS3 owners get it..

Having played it on the 360 already, I wasn't blown away so I don't anticipate picking this one up, but I'm sure it will sell OK in some quarters!

If Capcom doesn't sell somewhat close to the same attach rate on the PS3 that it did on the 360, that is going to be a serious wake up call to the industry. Capcom (and other third parties) may look at that as a reason to go multi on every PS3 title they have and skip porting 360 exlusives to the PS3. It's in every Sony Fanboys interest to hope it does fairly well on the PS3... Go ahead and disagree, de-bubble me, or whatever, but you know the negative spin that Sony will get hammered with if it doesn't sell well regardless of your console affiliation.

No one cares about this game on PS3. It was a great game, sure, but it's not like Bioshock, Halo 3, MGS4 or anything like that. It's not really all that much for PS3 fans to be excited about. They have quite a bit of other games to get them pumped.
