GREAT news that we're going to see this classic getting a re-release!

I just hope Sega will do it HD-justice, instead of making it an easy and cheap cash-in, like they did with Crazy Taxi and it's terrible pop-up!

Let's hope Nights will also some day make a PSN/XBLA appearance.

there are plenty of great saturn games to choose from if they were really serious about it.

Two I wouldnt mind seeing an HD remake: Bug and Clockwork Knight.

America....F YEAH!!!!

Can't wait. One of my favorite games growing up.

... and Sega once again pulled the 'let's just blur it and call it HD' trick we've seen them use before with Sonic 1 and 2, which makes it look horrible.

I was really REALLY excited about this news for about 5 seconds, but as usual Sega has found a way to screw it all up again.

Seriously, the incompetence at that company the last couple of years is just mind-bogling.

Guardian Hero's is in my opinion one of the best side scrolling beat em ups of all time. At the time the game was a visual wonder and the chaos of playing it was incredible and the fact that in the battle mode you could play as every single enemy in the game was just awesome and added a crap ton of replayability.

I really hope it looks good. I mean if they put effort into it they could have a classic masterpiece revived. Plus online? Just awesome can't wait. Hope they don't screw it up.

Guardian Heroes branching paths choices, characters, and music are still top notch among the games being made today.

I can't wait.

OMG, love this game....I still play it on my saturn from time to time. Please bring to psn!

thereapersson4746d ago

This game is dope. A PSN version would certainly be welcome. I wonder if the recent woes have anything to do with them not announcing a PS3 version?

Emilio_Estevez4746d ago

Proll not, they have been releasing stuff on xbl first recently. The problem with my saturn version is I have no memory card. Which sucks.

Reibooi4746d ago

Yeah I would bet there is a good 90% chance the game will be on PSN as well but will have a short window of exclusivity on XBLA(which is really starting to annoy me. Who the hell is gonna buy a console for a XBLA exclusive?)

This is one of my favorite games of all time and I can't wait to play it. I still have my Saturn but like DrStab I don't have a memcard so it's somewhat annoying playing without being able to save data.

Now this is some awesome news!

Hey Sega, how about Dragon Force next? Time to put that Saturn back catalog to use!

caseh4746d ago

Dragon Force would be a nice addition. I think I may have played it to death back in the day though so probably wouldn't get so much out of it this time around. :/

Sega you need to remake these titles: Astal, dark savior, last bronx and enemy zero...

Sega sells Relic and will cut 240 jobs across UK studios

GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.

The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."

Shame about Creative Assembly, they should have just been allowed to do an Alien Isolation sequel.

just_looken34d ago

It was that garbage coh 3 that did them in only a special team can make a sequel worse in every way even though it was a 10 year gap and the same era.

gold_drake35d ago

I hope they find new jobs in the industry soon.

Jingsing35d ago

Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive probably run on a shoe string budget so that fits into SEGA better lol

SEGA’s Switch Predecessor: What Happened to the Nomad?

Sega had such a turbulent existence from the mid-90s to when they dropped out of console manufacturing entirely in 2001, it’s understandable if you’ve never heard of the Genesis Nomad.
