Mass Effect 3 May Include New Ways To Play: Multiplayer Or Nintendo's New Console?

Apparently we haven't seen everything Mass Effect 3 will have to offer. During today's EA investor conference call, they hinted at "new ways to play Mass Effect 3" and other innovations be revealed at E3. They also mentioned their plans for ME3 to appeal to an even wider audience.

I can't see ME3 being on Nintendo's new console, simply because it won't be released until after ME3 is out, also without ME and ME2 they will be missing a big part of the entire trilogy.

ChickeyCantor4780d ago (Edited 4780d ago )

Meh i think Ps3 owners are missing out big time on the first game.
But hey they got an "interactive" comic...=(...

Bioware just needs to release a Trilogy pack with all DLC included. I think that would be fair if they were to release it again in 2012.

If only ME had Co-up. It fits brilliantly into the battles. you with 2 mates would be awesome.

Blacktric4780d ago

Agreed. Bioware said that they were interested in the usage of Kinect and Move, "if", they could find a make them work naturally with the game.

slavish34780d ago

co-op!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and nintendos system wont be out tell after the game regardless so this wont effect the delay

FAGOL4780d ago

Yh i'm thinking co-op missions.

No way on Nintendo's new console. Too little time and the gameplay doesn't match up with the standard Wii/Nintendo games and gameplay. Essentially, saying it would come out on Wii2 is similar to saying it will support PS Move.

ChickeyCantor4780d ago (Edited 4780d ago )

"Too little time and the gameplay doesn't match up with the standard Wii/Nintendo games and gameplay. "

Could you elaborate on this?
I mean I think using the IR of the Wii-mote would work brilliantly. Just look at RE:4.
Developers have a choice on which input they want to use. On top of that Wii-mote will be legacy-input.
Nintendo's next console will again introduce a different game-controller. So we actually do not know what it could offer for ME3.

But in my opinion, after RE:4 ( a third person game ) the IR input would be awesome.

And it doesn't have to "match" up.
That is what Iwata is trying to change by getting a better partnership with third party developers. Reggie already said they are expecting the "avid" gamers to buy their console in the beginning.

Christopher4780d ago

It would work great, if they were building two different games.

The games on PC, 360, and PS3 are based around very quick, on the fly use of third-person shooter concepts. RE4 on the Wii was far from as fast and frenzied nor did the game utilize as precise controls.

IMHO, the only way it would work is if they were building two different games with completely different levels of speed/balance/accuracy.

IMHO, they're not doing this. If they were, we would know by now and it would be a massive selling point for the game as it is.

"It would work great, if they were building two different games"

Why two different games? Re:4 on the Gamecube/PS2 and Wii are no different apart from the input.
----------------------------
"RE4 on the Wii was far from as fast and frenzied nor did the game utilize as precise controls. "

The game became "FAST" thanks to the IR controls, you pointed and shoot, it became more precise( shooting in zombie legs or head made a difference), unlike the clunky thumb stick. Which is pretty much the same case with ME on the PS3/360. This could very well work out good for ME3. No special alternation to the game would be required other than the way you shoot.

"The games on PC, 360, and PS3 are based around very quick, on the fly use of third-person shooter concepts."

I have both ME 1 & 2 for pc, and played the consoles version as well. I'm positive IR will work great for this game. The IR input would be a faster input device than thumb-stick.
----------------------------
I can see them doing this, but then again, It would be more logical if they release a trilogy pack later on.

Great news it shows that Nintendo intends to continue developing ports of AAA games to its next gen platform

H916d ago

Buying studios from embracer now is a great deal, they must be dirt cheap at this point, Nintendo is a opportunist, they wait until someone fall so they get their best deal

OtterX15d ago

That is some serious brain gymnastics you have going on there. 🤔

H915d ago

I didn't do any gymnastics I can assure you, honestly I don't know why you think that, not hating I seriously don't see why you think that

ZeekQuattro15d ago

Yeah I don't know where that came from. It's rare for Nintendo to flat out aquire studios. Guess they were trying to be edgy but why flex on this studio. 🤣

Kneetos14d ago

At least they are safer from layoffs with Nintendo then any other company

banger8816d ago

I hope someone buys Piranha Bytes, their future isn't looking good right now. I love their RPGs, they're janky as f***, but they have heart and soul.

Relientk7716d ago

Nintendo saw the Mortal Kombat 1 Switch port and were like, "Yeah, these guys are worth acquiring."

You can't make this crap up lol

Profchaos15d ago

Mortal Kombat 1 was never going to port well I'm sure they told wb it wasn't going to work but wb wants that sweet sweet 140 million install base

In the end wb approved the project cleared the milestones and allowed the product to release

SonOfOsiris15d ago

Yeah this guys ported MK11 which is great, Hogwarts Legacy which is great, and MK1 is now ok, play it every day

There are no "thoughtful" ads in video games, EA

There are no thoughtful ads in Video Games, EA. Leave them be.

I think the only type of games that can gets away with it would be sport games, having those sponsors ads on the side like on real life.

But don't put freaking Doritos ads in Star Wars or something, it breaks the immersion. If it is a pop-up ads, then big no.

Hofstaderman19d ago

EA can thoughtfully eff themselves.

Makersbreath219d ago

EA coming back for the crown of being perceived as the worst company in gaming.

Chocoburger18d ago (Edited 18d ago )

One of my favorite series is the THPS franchise, and it was packed with ads, but it didn't bother me. Posters for skateboard companies, JEEP, and Nokia phones. It did sort of fit in with the game world, but that was the past, these days ad would be intentionally intrusive or unskippable loading screen type of imagery. Ugh, I know EA would do it in a horrible fashion. Screw them.

Report: Sexual Misconduct Investigation Conducted at EA, Suspects Named and What They Did Revealed

EA senior staff has been investigated for sexual misconduct involving female coworkers, and these said people have been named publicly.

isarai25d ago

Aye just call Phil, i mean he somehow made Bobby Kotick's scandal disappear and gave him a few million dollar high five on the way out.

Cacabunga24d ago

I wonder if it will be censored with some in game ads.

MrBaskerville22d ago (Edited 22d ago )

Microsoft did, Phil Spencer played a minor part. He instigated the buyout that led to Kotick escaping all his controversies while getting a golden handshake.

Someone on Twitter calculated that the people hired in Tango and Arkane Austin could get a decent salary for roughly 17 years for the money Kotick was paid.

InUrFoxHole22d ago

Yeah some thing tells me Kotics $ was already guaranteed before MS made the deal. As for the studios... Let's be honest here... none of those studios made system sellers.

XiNatsuDragnel25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

EA about to go down like Activision and then Phil saves the day saying.this is good for the industry and consolidation will help create competition. /s.

MrBaskerville22d ago

Then they shutdown Codemasters and studio behind Jedi Survivor.

Atleast they could hardly do much damage that EA hadn't allready done. EA has shut down most of their studios by now.

ravens5225d ago

What's up with all these horny creeps. You gon be horny, fine. Just not at work take care of that shit before you go in. Rub one out if you have to. Don't be a creep at all. ESPECIALLY at work. But don't be one AT ALL.

Extermin8or3_24d ago

I mean part of the issue is that things transpired outside of work....

MrBaskerville22d ago

That's the thing he mentioned about not being a creep at all.

KwietStorm_BLM24d ago

You think deviants care where they are? Work sometimes makes it an even better situation for them because they can abuse their power.

mudakoshaka24d ago

Nerds think they are Gods when they are making video games.

NotoriousWhiz25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

"it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed. [...] The victim still has to work with the people that harassed her."

Yep, EA is disgusting.

Extermin8or3_24d ago

I mean the fact stuff happened outside of work puts EA in quite a difficult position legally. These women don't seem to have reported the matter to the police which kinda ties EA's hands on what they can do. If they don't file reports of the crimes then yeah from EA's perspective it is stuff that happened outside of work. The only exception is the guy that apparently referenced things in the slack channel for work, spending on what he said proving it may be very hard and he may well be able to get away with plausible deniability. I don't like EA and I think these people need to be dismissed but without any legal action being taken, EA can't really do much without risk of being sued themselves for unfair dismissal etc.
