Mass Effect 3 delayed into 2012 as new images emerge

EA is buffering ME 3 from the FPS sales clash in the Fall of 2011. I believe it is mainly due to Battlefield 3. They are giving gamers more room to buy it. At the same time adding a little polish to ME 3 can't be bad.

Have to agree, I was really worried about the impact of having ME3 released so soon after ME2's release (on X360 and PS3). Gonna be a shame not to have it this year but if it means the game is going to be better and not rushed, fuck yeah.

I'm glad to be honest, we have Dark souls and Skyrim out toward the end of the year, I would like to have some games a bit spaced out ya know? These will destroy my RPG needs for November and December . Not to mention all the action games and...Battlefield 3

Really not surprised aswell, far too much competition for those months, November 2011 may be one of the greatest months of gaming ever, giving us probably the best Tps/action adventure, the best FPS in years, and Skyrim, which can either be absolutely amazing or a big letdown, depending on bethesda, by the looks of it though the former will apply here.

I would put Dark souls and Skyrim over Mass Effect anyway, just my preference but ME wouldn't get a buy for a while anyway.

I think this is a good decision, Bioware's Reputation has taken some hits this year, and They need to deliver in a big way with Mass Efect3, so I say take all the time you need to get it right the 1st time out on this title.

I heard the ps3 version was better than 360 so I rented it and it had shit visuals and a horrid framerate. I couldnt even stand playing it.

I highly doubt FFXIII Versus or Rising will be out in early 2012. Rising has only had a 2 minute trailer so far and we don't look like we're even getting a release date itself for Versus anytime soon either.

Loved the original with its retro classic sci-fi feel, the mystery of space exploration, the more mature story and the much deeper RPG game-play, but not so keen on the second one. Seemed like it was designed to appeal to a far more casual and younger audience. It was still fun, but not half as cool as the first one was.

I've read the previews on ME3 and it just seemed to be more ME2 to me, so I haven't really been that bothered about it. But if by some small chance this delay is so they can have the time to recapture the awesomeness of the original, then maybe i'll change my mind next year.

This is a business decision more than anything. EA decided that releasing Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, and Star Wars: The Old Republic so close together in the same quarter was stupid and they needed some heat to start 2012 off right.

So to appease to their shareholders and stakeholders, EA is moving ME3 into early 2012 to sort of spread out their heavy hitters.

We'll probably have TOR in the Late Summer/Early Fall
Battlefield 3 Late Fall/Early Winter
Mass Effect 3 Late Winter (Jan/Feb 2012)/Early Spring

I personally have to disagree with you. I'm expecting ME3 to go back to awesome story telling as the first game.

I personally think that ME3 can beat Gears 3, Uncharted 3. Skyrimm ummmm maybe depends what BioWare decide to do. Obviously, me3 doesn't have the graphics of Uncharted. But ME3 is gonna pwn, I think it's being delayed since it could have obviously been rushed and it's better to get rid of any faults, and avoid any chances like what happened with Dragon Age 2.

ME franchise is superior to Gears period. Uncharted and ME are too different to bother comparing but heck if you think it doesn't stand a chance your obviously wrong.

Skyrim is the other rpg, other than the WitcherII, that stands a chance that a chance of beating ME3.

I'm commander Shepard and Early 2012 is my favorite time to kill reapers. :D
