Assassin's Creed: Revelations Taking Place In Ancient Greece?

DasReviews writes: "What a shocking turn of events. Ubisoft revealed today the second teaser trailer of Assassin's Creed: Revelations. In this trailer we can see Altair's arm and an ancient artifact. In case you didn't know, this is the Phaistos Disk, a greek archaeological artifact found in Crete..."

Hm...Then what was the arabic writings for?

Rybakov4762d ago

can we stop milking the series and just finish the plot line already

DanSolo4762d ago (Edited 4762d ago )

I can understand what you are saying about the plot line mate, but what do you think they should do once it's wrapped up?

Do you think they should just stop or start a new plotline but perhaps done in a different way?

I only ask as I have enjoyed the games and think that it is a franchise that if done correctly could go on for a while in different settings, and maybe different twists.... although the current plotline obviously will have to reach a conclusion sometime soon.

EDIT: lol By the way, I didn't give you either of those disagrees.... I am just asking your opinion.

Rybakov4762d ago

i enjoyed both games too thats why i want them to finish the plot line

and after? they could start a new ip or maybe once the end of the plot is revealed they could do a prequel that shows what happens to subject 16

but to much of a good thing is bad for it
why do we have to have a hundreds of assassin's creed when they could do the plot and then have those devs and the minds behind the creation of it come up with something new

jon12344762d ago

i just finished beating brotherhood, and let me tell you, this game now officially sucks now, the story is just ridiculous... i remember at the beginning of the game desmound says this is my story.... it should more like "my name is ezio and this my story, and this guys name is desmound"

but anyways sorry for the rant, i think they should end this series and just work on something else, but i know that wont happen...

Ancient Greece could be a cool setting for Assassin's Creed.
But it is also likely that it will take place in more than one setting and time period.

I do like the Assassin's Creed series and hope that it continues on in some form. Like I have heard that it is going to be a trilogy and this one will be the last one. If that is the case I hope they start another trilogy but perhaps with a different twist. There are definately different ways they could go... like with an assassin that is more about stealthily sneaking around in the shadows, maybe using poisons and more inventive ways to take people out.

There are so many different periods in History that could be done, and Assassin's Creed has so far done "history" better than any other game by actually giving some history lessons gently mixed in with the fantasy. Playing the last 2 in the series definately gave me a bit of an interest in the Renaissance period which beforehand I couldn't really have given a shit about!

I figured there'd be a big game each centered around those previous assassins who had sculptures made of them.

Eg one in China/Egypt etc

lochdoun4762d ago

So... Assasin's Creed 1.5?
(actualy it would be Assasin's Creed 1.75 counting the PSP game with Altair)
Ugh... give me a new character/setting.

Relientk774762d ago

I'd rather play as Ezio than Altair

but I am definitely looking forward to the game. Greece could definitely be an interesting setting for the series.

I hope its on the level of Assassin's Creed II, that is my fav of the 3 console games.

When will you decommission this new one? I’m only asking so I can be happier by not buying it at full price.

The dog Chorizo from FAR CRY 6 has wheelchair legs, so is hardly a decommissioned pet. In fact very useful for digging up dirt.

Historic Eras that Video Games Need to Explore

Xfire writes "Worldbuilding is a crucial part of any story. It's not an easy task to create a believable setting with its own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations and then weave a story into the said setting. Luckily, storytellers and video game writers don't always need to create complex settings when we've got history books as thick as Big Chungus.

Historical eras make a fabulous setting for video games. They've already got the world-building nailed, complete with their own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations. Honestly, I don't think I need to justify the fact that historical eras make an amazing setting for video games. If you don't believe me, just go ahead and play the Ghost of Tsushima or any of the Assassin's Creed games."

The first crusade would be pretty sweet. I’d probably enjoy any of those on your list if they were done respectfully. Like not some dork in Portland making a Russian Revolution game.

Benin Empire, Far East, Central America. Games are pretty biased toward Europe, North America, and the Middle East. There is a very big world out there.
