Going Loud Studios announced its sophomore effort, Lair of the Evildoer, which will be released on XBLIG this spring. Their previous title Zombie Accountant gave us a break from our own zombie-like paper-pushing day jobs. Gamers now play as a Frankenstein’s monster of sorts, whose creator is suddenly having remorse and decides it is better to have it destroyed. While he is no hobo with a shotgun, it still looks like the guy can do some damage.
Ben Kane, creator of DLC Quest and “Guy Working Alone” in-chief of Going Loud Studios, talks to Indie Game HQ about his experience in creating and marketing this trend-breaking title, including what he feels the Steam Greenlight process is doing for indie game developers. DLC Quest is Kane’s effort at pointing a finger towards current trends in the industry that might not be beneficial for gamers. In addition, Kane and IGHQ discuss how his interview with Xbox Magazine resulted in a huge surprise, and he gives a new response to a question about the future of DLC Quest.
Going Loud Studios has revealed that their highly acclaimed title DLC Quest, ironically, will be receiving its first DLC expansion later this year. DLC Quest has previously won Xbox Magazine’s Indie Game of the Year for 2011 and currently sits at #22 on Steam Greenlight.
But it IS an expansion and not multiplayer map packs or skins. Or double jumps.
