Yars’ Revenge is a fantastic title which offers both rewarding and fulfilling experience that fans of on-rails shooters or simply older arcade games will love through and through. The story is there, but due to poor execution, it is simply too hard to actually follow and this does hold this game back from achieving on it’s narrative. For just 800 points though, the intense and strategic gameplay that each stage presents as well as the stunning scenery that is seen along the journey makes Yars’ Revenge one reboot that should not be ignored.

"Yars’ Revenge is a reboot/re-imagination of an Atari 2600 game of the same name. You play as none other then a Yar fighting against an enemy known as the “Qotile,” which is also protected by a large energy shield. Originally Yar was more of a shoot at ships kind of shooter without much more. Yar changes the game up in the newest title changing up the game mechanics a bit.
Yars’, players will take on the role of a nameless Yar, who has been brainwashed by the evil Qotile empire to do their bidding. After being shot down and rescued by the ancient and mysterious Bar Yargler, she sets off on a ferociously focused mission, to seek revenge on her former master and his deadly squad of assassins. The bio-technological nightmare of the Qotile home world provides stunning backdrops for players to fly through in aerial combat with their enemy."
GameShard writes: "To be fair, if I was called Yar I'd probably want a bit of revenge, too. Fortunately, the protagonist of Yar's Revenge - a reimagining of the Atari classic Yars Revenge - isn't actually called Yar. She is one. Whether that is actually better or not, I'll leave up to you..."
