Bitmob writees "PC gaming is dead. Again. Or still, if you've heard the claim repeated every single year for the last decade or so. It's almost become part of PC culture, this imminent demise. Hell, Greg Vederman, then-editor-in-chief of PC Gamer Magazine, volunteered a complete denial of any impending format implosions without any prompting from me roughly ten minutes into our first conversation. Very reassuring."
Jack writes: "Yet again browsing the latest offers in the Steam Spring Sale has led us to track down the very best. In terms of price to quality, we don’t think that it gets much better than this. Portal 2 is now less than a dollar, and if you haven’t got it already, now is the time to pick it up."
Portal deserves to be one of steams highest rated games... It's almost tetris levels of perfect game design.
Gotta love Steam. Just got Portal 2 for .97 cents CAD. Should have been $1.29, selected the bundle with Portal 1 and 2, which gets a 25% discount, already have Portal 1, so it removes the cost of that, and still applies the full 25% bundle discount to Portal 2. 90% + 25% discount.
Given the medium's wild diversity, this primer of the essential video games everyone should try is a good place to start.
I can't fk with this list. They missed on alot of games probably before the writers times. Also I know people loved some portal but I was never a fan.
Tomb Raider 1
Driver 1
Abe’s Odyssey
FF6
King of Fighters 94
Mortal Kombat OG
LINK 2 the past
Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil 1
Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.
Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
Chris Brandrick, writing for overkill, speaks to Stefan Heinz, the lead developer on Portal: Revolution, a new fan-made campaign prequel to Portal 2.
valve suck so much at making games now, opting just to smaug on top of an enormous pile of money,
that fans got so desperate that they have to make their own games.
this industry is fucking over.
You realise the Steam on PSN only enables you to play with your PC friends and not to buy anything, right?
So no. PC gamers cannot, and will not in the future, be able to download PS exclusive titles. It'll only be for titles on both platforms.
And again with the "PC Gaming" is dead thing. Sigh.
To get console minded gamers thinking about the PC, and more importantly Steam, as an alternate gaming choice.
who cares not my type of game anyway
I think Valve is more interested in expanding Steam with some small sacrifice of revenue from Portal 2. Think about it. They WANT PC users who own a PS3 to buy the PS3 port. Any PC user with a brain will then sell the PS3 port at a slightly lesser price to minimize the net cost of buying the game. This lower resale price will attract more buyers, especially those on the fence. What results, ideally, is double the amount of Portal 2 PS3 players, which means double the amount of Steam users who play Portal 2. This whole campaign was to spread Steam around, which will payoff with much more revenue that a single game can ever do.
Good job to the author for thinking outside the box. *Sarcasm*
I have steam but my main choice for gaming is and always will be consoles.
Computers are for work, N4G and facebook. Not gaming. Well, unless you want to spend tonnes of money on it.
