Socom 4 has great multiplayer (campaign is complete crap), Crysis 2 was awesome, Killzone 3 was awesome, Infamous 2 is looking amazing.

Really? I'm not saying that all of the hyped up games this year will be amazing, but it is hard to argue against games like Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Infamous 2, Witcher 2...I could keep going. And what does game value have to do with the quality of the game itself? I've seen stellar games drop in price within a short period of time.

LA Noire is going to be boring, and that's my prediction so you better damn respect it! The setting seems boring to me and I don't care about that time in history. And the gameplay gonna be GTA4 with the same gimmicks and they're probably just using an updated engine. Agent is gonna be the TRUTH cause it's exclusive to PS3.

In other news, Uncharted 2 and Last Guardian are the only two games I'm genuinely excited for just like how Portal 2 was for me.

Portal 2 is a fairly short game, and there isn't much replay value since once you have solved a puzzle, you have solved that puzzle; yet, is it not an amazing work of engineering? My logic isn't flawed, it's simply different than yours. I'm an old-school gamer who demands a bit more out of his games.

You say "look at all the graphics, the story, and the impressive mechanics of Portal 2. That makes it a game worth playing!"

I say "look at how the fun does not last very long. Look at how the game has very limited replayability. I played it once and there is no reason to replay it. Look at the high price tag for such a limited game. I can rent this, enjoy it, and then forget about it without a second thought".

Portal 2 was $35 from amazon with that promotion. And then I can trade back in a couple months for around $35 to $40 because they routinely have those kinds of trade back values.

You can call it what you want, but Portal 2 has sold 4 million. Let's say 30% trade the game back, and Valve is still very happy with how much they sold. It would be nice for them to have a longevity in their game, but I know they're very pleased.

Portal 2 numbers have yet to be confirmed. The 4 million you speak of is for the FIRST Portal game, via retail sales. Many websites are misreporting this.

Don't believe me? Check their 'sources' and you'll find they say nothing about Portal 2.

I've not rented a game in years. I've never bought a game and traded it in.
Well, not as soon as I beat it. Maybe months, or years, down the line, I will.
I don't hardly ever buy 'used' games. Unless I can't find it anywhere, anymore.
And, that's usually only cause I missed out on the game when it released.

What I do know is that he gets far more credit than is earned, and that people will praise him to death no matter what he puts out.

All right, slight qualify: I own and have played (many times) MGS 1-4. I really like them with the exception of #4, which I thought was pretty good but mired in extremely redundant dialogue.

None of the games on your list is doing anything new. LA Noire is using new tech to bring the interrogation of a suspect or witness to life in a videogame. It's an advancement in storytelling, and I think that's what Kojima is talking about. I know I'm looking forward to more games than just LA Noire, but he's thinking like a developer and not a gamer.

Honestly. It's one thing to criticize a game you played, it's another thing to criticize a game you haven't.

Portal 2 has Multiplayer Co-op, Plus a SP that you can play again (which is quite enjoyable since the sp is incredible, and there's so many details throughout). Also you can replay the sp with developer commentary, and then there's a bunch of extra's in the menu like the Super 8 interactive trailer.

Kojima has done significant things for gaming, but he's allowed his craft to stagnate over the years, probably due to fans and critics dumping excessive praise and for some reason not pointing out where things could be improved.

I'm looking forward to getting Portal 2 tomorrow. Looking forward to LA Noire because I'm a huge noir guy (as in a big fan of the genre, not a gigantic French black fellow).
