Sonic fans on Wii: Please Quit Your Crying

SEGAbits: "Some folks are never happy.

As with everyone else this week, I was ecstatic to see the new Sonic Generations gameplay trailer. While discussing it over several different forums, I noticed the same topic coming up. “Why isn’t it on Wii?!” “That’s not fair, the Wii should get an anniversary game too!” And my favorite, “LOL typical Sega. screwing over Wii fans”. This line of discussion really ticked me off. Mainly because if you’re a Sonic fan who only owns a Wii, you’ve never had it so good!"

It was not mentioned for Wii because it is being made for project cafe..

Tuxmask554779d ago

Wow, using an image from the furry yiff comic "Coyote River" for this story? Really?

SilverSlug4778d ago

I'll be honest, I don't know what Coyote River is... you should be ashamed. But that is basically the Sonic fanboys that whines, yiffing furries.

Jio4778d ago

lol, I just googled it.

helghast1024778d ago

It's accurate, anyone who still claims to be a Sonic fan is usually just there for the furry shit.
Everyone else however jumped off the Sonic ship and await to board it again when it gets good.

Lamarthedancer4778d ago

Really....

I'd rather play Sonic with a standard controler like the good old days.

I mean I played on Sonic Colours, it was alright, but in my opinion I still didn't think it was good as many people have said. It felt too casual to me. I mean little colourful aliens called wisps......I'll pass

I think PS3/360 owners deserve some Sonic love. It would be funny if the game ended up being amazing and it's the first Sonic game for a while thats not coming out for the Wii.

Nugan4778d ago

Yes, because colorful cartoon characters have no place in the hardcore Sonic universe.

Are you a Shadow the Hedgehog fan by any chance?

Lamarthedancer4778d ago

So because I said it felt too casual by having uneccesary characters to the game....again

You call me a shadow the hedgehog fan, which to me is another character which wasn't really needed.

Wow your smart ¬¬

@Robsonmonkey

I think Nugan was referring to this part of your comment:

"It felt too casual to me. I mean little colourful aliens called wisps......I'll pass"

Colorful and cute creatures fit well into the Sonic universe. Even the older Sonic games had you rescuing forest animals and rescuing Chao.

Lamarthedancer4778d ago

@MidnytRain well why not use the chao in the plot instead of adding more and more characters which just seem to ruin the game. Is is so hard to use characters they've already done before. What I was trying to say is that they just can't make a Sonic game with just Sonic....theres always something.

Nugan4778d ago

Midnyt got what I was saying.

I can understand being annoyed by the addition of new characters, but your choice of words ("casual," "colorful") made me think that you were attacking Sonic Colors for not being "hardcore" or saying that the Wisps were somehow too cartoonish for a game about an anthropomorphic hedgehog.

gumgum994778d ago

@Robsonmonkey

Sonic 2 had Tails, Sonic 3 and Knuckles had, surprise, Knuckles, Sonic CD had Amy...

Unless you only liked Sonic 1, there isn't much of an argument here. It isn't the characters that make a game, its the gameplay. The real reason why many didn't like Sonic up til now.

Oh, and you can play Sonic Colors with any controller you know. just sayin...

snipes1014778d ago

This guy does realize that out of those 5 games, two of them were worth playing right? 2 were totally garbage party games (the olympic games ones) and the other one (The Black Knight) had no business being called a sonic game and was a cheap knock off. So the Wii only really has 2 Sonic games in terms of actual entertainment.

gumgum994778d ago

to be fair, Black knight was a spin-off, that is an offshoot of the main Sonic series. It never was intended to be the next big Sonic game, so I don't even know why people give it so much hate.

Heck, it they even went as far as to label it, and it still didn't get the message across.

snipes1014778d ago

Yea I know, I too have picked the box up in utter bewilderment at a game store and seen the label. I'm just saying that the game does not really belong in this article. It does not make a good case for his argument at all.

I didn't even know this was an issue.

Sega sells Relic and will cut 240 jobs across UK studios

GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.

The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."

Shame about Creative Assembly, they should have just been allowed to do an Alien Isolation sequel.

just_looken53d ago

It was that garbage coh 3 that did them in only a special team can make a sequel worse in every way even though it was a 10 year gap and the same era.

gold_drake54d ago

I hope they find new jobs in the industry soon.

Jingsing54d ago

Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive probably run on a shoe string budget so that fits into SEGA better lol
