The World Ends With You 2 set for an E3 reveal? 3DS Tribe put on their speculation hats after a trip to the land of Twitter.
Ni No Kuni may have re-sparked interest - but quality JRPGs never really went away. Rice Digital round up this generation's finest entries in the genre.
that is a hard i really loved xneoblade, last story, and tales of graces f equally but i have yet to play tales of veseperia, valkyria chronicles, ni no kuni and lost odyssey.
Really enjoyed Legend of Heroes for the PSP/Vita, hope they localize the new one as well. Ni no Kuni was a welcome surprise for tradionalist in the genre. Persona 4 showed that a great game will always be a great game no matter how old it is.
For me personally i had a lot of fun with the lesser known JRPGs like the Neptunia's, Agarest Wars, Atelier series, stuff like that. The big names like Tales of Graces & Disgaeas were also great.
Hopefully next gen we will continue to see a lot more JRPGs & be at least revelant to be on sales charts more often like they use to be.
"There is a large pool of awesome and unique games that we miss out on all the time. Remembering those games and cutting some out of this list sucks.
We live in a generation of gamers that declares there is nothing new or unique in games. So many people claim that we just get the same crap over and over, which is true in a lot of instances. But there are so many great choices out there. Some may be older games, but there are plenty of games that are very unique that are just hiding under all the high end titles. All the Triple A, blockbuster hits are burying so many good games and have been doing so for a long time now. The trend isn’t new in any way. It’s just depressing that the games that take a risk and do something new or interesting are separated and tucked away to be cult classics or sleeper hits.
Naturally, the games with a crazy marketing strategy and lots of money to go towards that strategy will fare much better than the games that don’t. I just wish some of the people who made the bold, unique titles could make more money so we could see more from their creative minds.
Anyways, let’s get on to my list. Here are my top ten most unique games that I have ever played."
Unique means one of a kind. Nothing can be more or less unique than something else.
It's either unique or it's not.
I agree with the list. But there is one glaring omission: Flower. How many other games let you play as Wind? That's about as unique as these things come.
MMGN: Games are remembered for their awesome or terrible soundtracks. Here are 10 of the best.
TWEWY had an awesome soundtrack. I love the menu theme and the battle soundtracks are beastly.
List fails without ANYTHING from Jesper Kyd.
Assassin's Creed 2 soundtrack, anyone?
Top 10 lists just can't win. People will hate any list if it doesn't match their own.
would love a second one
Same here! The original is still one of the best games I've ever played.
Nerdgasm
Oh god please. Ever since the 3DS was announced I imagined playing a TWEWY game in 3D. It's the perfect game for the 3DS imo.
“Sadly, we wouldn’t even know which format would win a TWEWY sequel in the volatile mobile gaming market these days”
this has to be a joke. The only thing smart phones get are shitty shovelware games or ports that dedicated systems have had for years.
square has at least 4 3ds games in development this early which is more than the ds got. 5 wouldnt be weird
people thinking smartphones is actually effecting dedicated game announcements is cute but it shows a serious lack of knowledge
