Fantastic, not one mention of the PC version of the box.

Mikey_Gee6051d ago

... WHY NOT !!!

It is awsome and a MUST BUY.

PORTAL is wicked. Just when you think you are done, the fun just starts .. REALLY

Quickstrike6051d ago

i have a PS3 and the Orange Box is out on it next month if nothing happens like a xbot....wait bad idea to say that a xbot just might get the balls to do it.

Mikey_Gee6051d ago

I can only assume that was a piss poor attempt at a ignorant fanboy comment. Could you say it again in clear english with a complete sentence.

Xbot or not ... I am enjoying Orange box NOW .

Quickstrike6050d ago

The only part u got right about that is the fanboy part. If i was piss poor I wouldn't have a PS3 now would I? Good for you for getting a 360, but i'm going to enjoy the Orange Box when it comes out on the PS3.

9.3 is kinda low imo...when you compare it to their reviews of halo 3 and metroid (*not overall, 9.3 is a great score*)...not that they didnt deserve those scores, i just think orange box is at that level.

Solid_Skip6051d ago

I NEVER PLAYED THE GAME AND JUST LOOKING AT THE VIDEO MAKES ME WANT TO PLAY IT, AND HALO SHOULD HAVE NEVER GOT RATED THAT HIGH, IT WAS A GOOD GAME BUT OVER ALL COMPARED TO GOW ITS NO WHERE THERE. HALO ONLY GOT GOOD REVIEWS COUSE OF ITS ONLINE PLAY AND THAT TAKES FOR EVER TO GET ON.

I would nominate Orange Box as GOTY if Half Life 2 hadn't won over 40 such awards when it was released! THIS IS A MUST OWN. Anyone who plays games must experience the awe that is Half Life 2. Graphics are pretty good for something that was released 3 years ago.

I'm playing it and it runs better than on my PC years ago, plus there's no tearing and smooth framerates except a couple times when there are lots of exploding barrels on-screen. I haven't even played Portal (except a few minutes) because I got sucked into Half Life 2 and I can't stop. I haven't played Folklore on PS3 or Skate on 360 yet (they're both sitting on my floor by the TV) because this game IS THAT GOOD!

Nothing but great memories with all these games! Playing Left for dead series during the college years with friends was the best.

Skull5212030d ago

Love to see titles coming to BC with enhancements. Would love even more to see Half Life 3.

gangsta_red2030d ago

To not have another Left 4 Dead is straight up criminal.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH2030d ago

So many memories of throwing my controller with Portal lol.

How Valve released five of its greatest games in a single day

The year is 2007. Console owners tap their fingers in barely contained impatience. For years they have been starved of Valve's delicious, full-bodied courses, forced to watch from the bleachers as Valve mixes a unique blend of kinetic first-person with extraordinary tech. Besides a brief dalliance with the original Xbox and the PlayStation 2 - which produce pale imitations of its best work - Valve has remained faithful to the PC.

And then, in a flash, five of them arrive at once; neatly packaged morsels for a new generation reared on Microsoft's & later Sony's consoles. Five games, all in one orange box. Valve serves the PC too, for it is October 18 - a day of celebration - and everyone should feast.

Man 2007 was a great year for gaming.

OpenGL2394d ago

Valve didn't really "release" 5 of its greatest games in a single day, Half-Life 2 came out 3 years before The Orange Box. In no other context do we talk about a port being the "release" of a game.

The orange box was an excellent release. I don't think Valve will do much beyond online only games now.

Thanks for making the source 2 game engine valve it's legit.

shut up valve....give me HL3....

Back when Valve made a lot of great titles

Little cheeky to talk about it when you know we're still waiting for Half Life 3...the Orange Box included Episode 2 and is still left unfinished story wise to this day.

At this rate we better get a second Orange Box. Half Life 3, Half Life Remake (Black Mesa Mod), TF3 or L4D3 and the HL spin offs like Blue Shift.

Reefskye2401d ago (Edited 2401d ago )

Don't know what valve are going to do with Half Life after Mike Laidlaw posted the short version of Episode 3 in August and changed the names and genders.
