Mortal Kombat DLC Characters Revealed

VG247: "Mortal Kombat developer Netherrealm Studios has confirmed the first DLC characters planned for its upcoming 2011 reboot.

The developer told CVG in a recent interview that it doesn't want MK 2011's add-on content to be limited to simple costume or stage additions - and the new characters it's working on will have "all the good stuff."

Wow DLC as long as people are playing this game put them at great price and i'll support you guys all the way.

iPlayGamez4762d ago

i wouldnt mind supporting them if this wasnt another case of developers charging you money to acess content already on the disc. in fact, you can already fight kintaro in the 300 challenge tower. and he was shown a month and a half ago.

darthv724762d ago

kratos was available as dlc for the 360 version. Not entirely impossible but pretty much improbable. Sony wouldnt let that happen unless they could make some big $$$$ off of it.

There is potential there but aint gonna happen.

Perjoss4762d ago

already?, I think I'm just going to wait for the GOTY bundle with all DLC included.

At least DLC's and I'm sure the Devs are not thinking about ''Super Mortal Kombat'' or ''Mortal Kombat Gold Edition'' or ''Mortal Kombat Super HD Remix blah blah''
*looking at you Capcom*.

v1c1ous4763d ago

they weren't thinking of that, but i bet you they were thinking of making extra cash on DLC and the game hasn't even officially released yet.

Sam Fisher4763d ago

@ v1c1ous, they need to make money some how, i mean they earned it. they worked hard, and still are. the least you can do is give them a donation to their hard work

Soldierone4763d ago

@Vicious....They have a crap ton of characters in the game as is. The DLC is literally adding extra characters to the list. Its not like they are missing KEY CHARACTERS from the game, and add them later in a Super Mortal Kombat HD Deluxe II....

Looking at you Capcom again....

gam3fr33k4762d ago

@ Soldierone

Which key characters was left out of Street Fighter 4 exactly?

ian724762d ago

@Sam Fisher,

Isn't buying the game at full price a big enough donation for their hard work. I hate all this DLC now. They make enough money from the game as it is.

BlackTar1874762d ago

yea which key character were left out?
I hate DLC milking but if they release for $1-$2 a character maybe i will buy some .

wheres the guy who says hey $50 for a DLC character is a good deal.

RedDead4762d ago (Edited 4762d ago )

Please stop trying to defend them for this....I'm getting the gamw and all. But this is an obvious. "If you want these cool extra characters ya gotta pay extra. We want more money." That's all it is and it is common enough these days, doesn't make it right, and no way inhell will I be buying these Dlc chars, I just don't want to support that type of crap, same with Res evil 5 multiplayer

I found that the mortal kombat 9 controls were unresponsive/sluggish compared to the faster pace gameplay Tekken 6 has. I also think the move list was weak e.g. about 20 moves each character compared to tekken 6, 80 moves min and higher each. (Limits me as a player)

fluffydelusions4763d ago

At least they aren't on disk already. Give them a reasonable price and I may buy them.

kaveti66164762d ago

As someone above said, one of the DLC characters is in the game as someone you fight.

Kintaro?

That means that the publishers are forcing consumers to pay for things that are on the disc.

I'm not blaming the developers because I think it's usually the publisher who makes these types of decisions.

thats_just_prime4762d ago

"Kintaro?

That not 100% true the model and some moves are there but there is more work that has to be done to be able to play Kintaro. He's finisher, moves have to be assigned to controller input. I also not think he has an Xray move on the game right now (I havent seen it yet) So they are still doin extra work to make him playable

Modestmex4763d ago

Now they need to throw some new fatalities on the dlc.

Kon4763d ago

Here it is the DLC crap all over again... Why not include all the fighters in the disk? I'm sure they aren't like 2GB.

Blad3star4762d ago (Edited 4762d ago )

When you get dish you have to pay extra for Pay-per-view

When you go to the strip club you have to pay extra to get some booty

When you go to watch a Football game you have to pay extra to drink some beer

When you buy a pizza you have to pay extra for more toppings

Its called business and its NO.1 objective is to make money.

Edit: @ Black Tar - Is some one holding a gun to your head to buy the DLC? X company gives you a game with content that they feel is worth $60, if you buy the game then you obviously thought it was worth the $60. You and I don't know how much time and money is spent on making and marketing a game and the developers aren't obligated to add more stuff to the game then what they feel is worth it.

BlackTar1874762d ago

wow you ever so happy to pay for the extra DLC that is announced before the game.

Im all for DLC but im not gonna sit here and try and justify it to anyone.

swishersweets200314763d ago

Kintaro i would want to get but scarlet and kenshi not something i'd want enless they come with a stage.

My favorite is always going to be Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I know some people didn't like the addition of the run button. But, man that game is burned into my memory from childhood, lol.

Relientk77175d ago

That's the one I played the most as a kid. Fun times gaming on my Sega Genesis, the memories

Terry_B175d ago

Deception, MK2, MK9, MKX ..rest.

Kakashi Hatake175d ago

MK2 will always be the best in the series. Been playing a lot of MK1 lately though. Definitely enjoying it more than any other NRS era MK game.

Tankbusta40175d ago

1 and 2 were cultural phenomenon's.

specialguest175d ago

I will always have a special place in my memory for MK 1 and 2. You had to be there during that era at the arcades. Martial arts tournament fighting movies were still popular, and MK 1 was exciting. Real life motion captured characters done well (unlike Pit Fighter). A cast of characters we all liked like Bruce Lee(Lui Kang), Van Damme(Johnny Cage), the Lightning god(Raiden) from Big Trouble in Little China, and Ninjas, gotta have Ninjas. Goro was menacing as hell. The MK arcade had some of the best speakers similar to Killer Instinct as you could hear the loud crisp and bassy sound that was distinctly different than other arcades. MK 2 improved greatly on the controls and fighting mechanics
