im shocked there are not more stories on how the new Nintendo system will probably use the AMD Trinity tech which is stock DX11

Nitrowolf24764d ago

for all we know, well it's nothing so far just rumor. Just gonna wait for Nintendo to reveal it no point in having a bunch of sites milk and hype this to death only for Nintendo to come up short. I have my faith since we are already in our 5-6 year of PS3/360, so technically being more powerful as them shouldn't be that hard for a console manuafacture.

NewMonday4764d ago

The rumor was that a "company" presumed to be nintendo will use AMD, another rumor is pointing at MS using AMD Trinity for the 720.

nveenio4764d ago

Yeah, this type of thing isn't really "reliably" ready, yet. I'm sure Nintendo is getting ready with a new console (as Wii saturation approaches), but I'm not going to get interested until I learn more from more concrete sources.

Bigpappy4764d ago (Edited 4764d ago )

Wii and 360 both use AMD/ATI vidio chips.
The new Wii will be concerned with Move only as far as cors shooter maket is concerned, but Nintendo is more focused on keeping they new found casual market. They have to find a new gimick that would be more approachable than Kinect. They are going to have a tougher time getting to the same kind of number they got this gen. I am eger to see how they try to pull this off.
The only sure bets here are that the next wii will have motion control and HD.

zeeshan4764d ago

I just don't see a high-def screen in the middle of a controller. I am sorry but I just don't get it.

Firstly, the battery life is going to become a pain in the as*. I mean, how many hours of continuous gameplay can you get on your iPhone and Android phones? Answer, not even a full day. So having a High-def screen in a controller is not a good idea. Secondly, I like to play some games in the dark. Games like Dead Space and Resident Evil etc. The light from the controller screen is going to be aweful while playing in the dark. Of course Nintendo can give you a controller screen power on/off button but that's additional functionality in what's supposed to be a not so large device and not to mention, will also result in higher manufacturing cost.

Nintendo has piles of money. Literally piles of money thanks to cheap development cost of Wii and their success with Wii but I don't think they'll pull a Sony or Microsoft here. As far as I remember, Nintendo has never sold a product at a loss and I think that these rumors are pushing things far too much. Lets all wait and see what E3 has for us. That's when we'll all get to see the official thing with all the official announcements :)

Honestly don't believe it. Nintendo is about making consoles affordable and I'm still not convinced Nintendo will be making a powerful console. I mean smartphones have better specs than the just released 3DS so why expect some huge tech leap from the Wii. Nintendo has always been about the games not the hardware. They use older tech to profit from the start. That is how they have always operated. Mario, Zelda etc will all sell regardless. Something on par with 360/PS3 I believe but something using a DX11 card..nope.

CanadianTurtle4764d ago

Not really...

The N64 and Gamecube had better hardware than it's competitors, except for xbox. You never know. The media has always been frusturated with the Wii's inferior hardware. Maybe Nintendo took that into consideration. It doesn't really matter because Nintendo is creating somthing just as powerful as today's consoles. By the time this new nintendo console comes out, the PS4 and the new xbox will already come out with much better hardware.

miyamoto4764d ago (Edited 4764d ago )

Yeah, not really...

Nintendo's Super Famicom, N64 & Gamecube were all considered the more powerful consoles of their generation compared to the competition.

Like most critics say Nintendo learned that power alone won't win the game - the hard way twice!

With the Wii as Miyamoto has put it - Nintendo's "play it safe" make or break console.
The complete opposite of their more aggressive or some critics say "arrogant" approach to the business of console gaming.

But not only "play it safe" I also say the Wii is Nintendo's "play it smart" console focusing on their brand strength - the younger market which Sony had no choice but to ignore and was terribly sorry for it.

It was also the console at with the right price at the right time. The economic depression was Nintendo's greatest ally this generation.

Same with their games did you notice that they don't have that much new IPs? I can't blame them milking their own franchises because it was the safest risk free way to make more money.

I read that if the Nintendo bombed again with the Wii they would have just focused on the handheld platform - another one of their strengths.

If the conservative approach they did with the 3DS is any indication........ the question is
1)will they be conservative, learn from their lessons & play it safe again ..... or

2) with their new found success will they be aggressive again with their new console?

JLeVRT4764d ago

I like Nintendos [gimmicks] but I know that its gonna be left behind and outdated again like the Wii was and eventually fall behind with Dev support...

-Alpha4764d ago (Edited 4764d ago )

How do you know that? It doesn't have to be the most technically advanced product on the market.

While Nintendo doesn't focus on pushing graphical limits they have pushed more orthodox things-- motion control, touch screen, and now this. I like that they tend to standardize features that seem to focus on approaching gameplay differently.

I do not think that they are gimmicks either. I think that by having the guts to make these features a standard on their products they forced devs to approach their product properly. While there is indeed shovelware, there is also a great list of exclusive titles that utilize these features. The gimmick comes from the long list of Wii developers who like to capitalize on casual crowds.

I have faith in Nintendo. Always loved their games, and I've always thought their strategy of offering the alternate experience for a cheaper price was great.

Sony and MS are always fighting with each other yet Nintendo always goes for the cheaper product but with just enough of something to make their product interesting and different from the other two who are much too alike in many ways. Of course, their exclusives always retain that Japanese charm that I'm so fond of.

All Nintendo needs to do is make sure they advance past 360/PS3 in necessary areas. However, with all this talk about the controller I assume they wouldn't go too far or else they'd risk producing a very expensive product. Regardless, they have something big and different up their sleeve and I hope that they can deliver.

N4g_null4764d ago

Nintendo has some thing Microsoft are Sony doesn't. You can pretty much guarantee bulk shipments in the you can make enough of these category.

Why do you think nintendo got such cheap prices on the wii mote gyros? SRAM? The 3d screen for the 3ds. Why do you think intel wants in on consoles?

Volume and sheer Walmart like buying Power.

Is it possible to redo a r700 with today's shader power? Sure!

What a lot of gamers don't know is the game gpus are basically professional cards with stuff turned off some times via drivers. Pro gpus run up to $4000+.

You take out alot of unneeded stuff and put back in the newer stuff and you get a monster!

Also please realize mariokart does and didn't have a lot of commercials like say halo. People are still playing these games you call gimmicks because guess what they are good games that do require skill.

Once you start seeing the ports you'll get to try those games again, plus your hardcore pc games. You will see some scaling though since most pc will want 1gig cards and the current hd nin is at least 512 of the vid card. Yes that is just the vid card. Since it's not officially announced it can go higher depending on price in the market.

fatstarr4764d ago

Sounds pretty nice, lets see what nintendo comes up with.

Noble Spartan4764d ago (Edited 4764d ago )

all that confirms is death of already dead move . lol since it get better motion tech then move.

N4g_null4764d ago

You don't need to keep casual gamers. You make the games they want and they buy it.

I mean really the wii plus wii fit was over $500 and the casuals ate it up. Wii play sales are crazy and you need 4 addons to play it= expensive.

My girl friend loves nice things and her purse cost $500 lol. Only the hardcore can afford this stuff. iPads cost 500-700 sold like crazy in a ressecesion.

You see only gamers here think it's marketing. The only people that marketing works on are the ones that emerse themselves in it. On top of this 10-20 million is sales pretty much says these people will want a sequel to those games and you can't get them on other hd consoles.

I hate cod but imagine your dead yet you can cycle thur your team and even command them from your own touch screen. Imagine each player also having three bots they can control in a game like that? Imagine strafing and having a bot cover for you just by selecting it. You can't do that with a mic. Hell you can't even do that on pc.

You see that would be cool and some hd open gl 4.1 sprinkled in there would be sweet.

The control system is going to be sweet. Almost beyond keyboard and mouse.

Midori4764d ago (Edited 4764d ago )

"I mean really the wii plus wii fit was over $500 and the casuals ate it up. Wii play sales are crazy and you need 4 addons to play it= expensive. "

A Wii at its most expensive launch price (which was years before Wii Fit was even released...), plus Wii Fit would approach $400, not exceed $500. Its modern day price would barely scrape past $300.

Also, you don't need 4 add-ons for Wii Play--the game can be played entirely with just a remote, which is included with the game and the Wii console itself. Many people bought Wii Play simply because it was the price of a remote at the time, basically a "free game" to go with your new remote. Nunchuk is only optional for one game.

Just thought I'd point that out, not trying to pick apart your statements or anything lol

N4g_null4764d ago

Sorry I'm ment resort. Casuals r not cheap, kids are because Of parents. Can see a lOt of husbands hating the next gen argument. Lol

matey4755d ago

its using a revamped R700 so think more in line with 5000/6000 series with DX11 support.

I think all these stuff are fake, Nintendo is not saying anything.

matey4755d ago

info is from developers with kits

RankFTW4764d ago (Edited 4764d ago )

I hope the first party games don't require motion control (Mario etc) as I'll probably pick this up not like I did with the Wii.

CrimsonEngage4764d ago (Edited 4764d ago )

The day i have to strap a device to my head is the day i quit gaming.

AWBrawler4764d ago

but mind control would be teh pownage lol

wenaldy4764d ago

Old skool gaming ftw!!!!!

Arapidos4764d ago

They have sooooo much revenue from the past 5 years of sales they can afford to build another REVOLUTIONARY console with high technical costs.

ChickeyCantor4764d ago

Ugh,

Just cause you have money doesn't mean you should make a product which will cost a lot towards the CONSUMERS.
The problem is not whether they have money or not, the problem is Marketing.

NiKK_4194764d ago

Yes, but Nintendo can make a console and sell it at a loss because they have tons of money from the Wii, but that probably won't happen, Nintendo is all about making stuff cheap so more people will buy it and making a good profit on every unit they sell, like the Wii and 3ds, they're both overpriced for the technology inside them

Nintendo makes everything cheap to make their money
Microsoft focuses on marketing and live (and cod) to make their money

And Sony tries to make the best thing they can for the price (hardware and software) to make their money

ChickeyCantor4764d ago

"Yes, but Nintendo can make a console and sell it at a loss"

But do Consumers want to BUY at a high price?
What is you don't understand?

Rolling the Dice: Do Modern RPGs Miss the Point of Team-Based Play?

It seems it was long time ago. A bunch of friends spending hours on end playing RPG games, sitting around the table with the box of cold pizza. Excited about the story, listening to the Game Master, they were completely engaged in the worlds only visible to them and their imaginations.

The GM is the programmer, and in MMOs and co-ops, you can play with others. If you want to ONLY use your imagination for the visuals, read a book.

1) Hope they put it on disc this time.
2) Hope this is a positive for Neptune coming over as well.

Demons Souls5077d ago

If so, that's being developed & published by Idea Factory. Compile Heart has nothing to do with it (Thank God for that).

Godmars2905077d ago (Edited 5077d ago )

Thought Compile Heart was one of the companies lending characters.

Was also speaking in general as in regards to a US of Neptune. If these guys are offing a second game, NIS or Atlus, both of whom offer quirkier titles, will put that one out.

@kagon01:
My issue isn't - wholly - with the DL-only option, but the price. The first game should be $30. Maybe $40, and by that I mean $39.99. The only reason its $45 is the 360 disc version which has extras. Nevermind that by all rights its a PS2 game. Something that proabbly could have been done if the devs had the GOW2 engine or tools.

ClownBelt5077d ago

I approve of this god damn message.

Could have gotten my 60 bucks if they just put it on a disc.

Jack-Pyro5077d ago

Is this a half decent SRPG, porn aside, cause if it is, i might just decide to go and buy it for the 360.

Anon73495077d ago

There's no porn just some sexual innuendos but that's it.

Also it is a great game by itself, maybe not graphically but everything else is top tier.

RedDevils5077d ago

so it had some kind of "top tier" porn story jk

ThanatosDMC5077d ago

Yup, it's a decent game. I just hate that a move has to go first before any attack options.
