‘Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D’ Review [Game Rant]

Game Rant's Riley Little writes, "Ubisoft released quite a few titles during the Nintendo 3DS’ launch, and Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D happened to be one of them. This game is filled to the brim with everything that fans of monster battling games (i.e. Pokemon) will love, as well as some nice visuals that make some solid use of the 3DS hardware.

However, the fun that can be had with Dinosaurs 3D is extremely short-lived, mainly due to the generic and almost painfully boring gameplay. Kids may find joy with this title, but it won’t hold their attention for more than a few hours."

Backlog Quest: Day 8 – Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D | Clearance Bin Review

Backlog Quest is a month long special event on Clearance Bin Review featuring daily game reviews of the games that have sat on the shelf for simply too long; old and new.

From Day 7 – Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D, Tristan Rendo writes,"It quickly seems like most of the titles coming through the pipeline in this quest to rid my backlog of… well my backlog are just taking mediocre to a whole new level. Maybe, somewhere in my subconscious I knew this and this is part of the reason why so many of these games lingered on my shelf for so long, collecting dust and dirty looks. Yet, when I purchased my 3DS last holiday season and was eagerly looking for games to play on it, I gave in to a Best Buy deal of the day that netted me Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D for $5. At that price, how bad could it be?

Congrats Ubisoft, you made me not only regret buying a $5 video game, but you managed to make T-Rex lame."

Ten Worst 3DS Games (Modojo)

Chris Buffa (Modojo): Nintendo's 3DS sure has a ton of stinkers. Plenty of good games exist, but these gems practically drown in a sea of mediocrity. Need proof? Just head to your local store and try to pick out The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D amongst the shovel ware.

now that's a really good list :)

Haha...just doing my part to educate the 3DS owners.

I think everyone can pretty muchg decide for themselves which are horrible and which are good. But i agree the launch titles were god aweful. But good things come to those who exercise patience. Mercenaries is incredible, Starfox will be incredible, as will kid icarus and mario kart. I'm really not worried about the line-up now.

just because you not into a game doesnt mean you're educating anyone.....variety is always key in success...cant cater to just your likes...nintendo at least understands that

In-depth Review: Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D - Electronic Theatre

As one of the Nintendo 3DS 'launch window' titles Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D carries a certain amount of expectation upon its shoulders. There has been little thus far to convince gamers that the Nintendo 3DS system won’t go the same way as the original Nintendo DS: catering for the core demographic at first and slowly diluting the software catalogue with a range of Touch Generations! titles and fewer of their leading franchises, and so many had been hopeful that Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D would fill a void. It doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel to achieve such a goal, simply present an inviting concept and interesting gameplay.
