So many positive reviews for this game its overwhelming.

As an avid boxing fan I believe it really deserves all the high praise.

I've been a fan of boxing since I watched the "Rumble in the Jungle" when I was just a little kid. The Fight Night series seems to understand what we, as gaming boxing fans, really want.

as an enthusiast of the sport, i can say without a doubt that this game is terrible. 1 button blocking ruined this game and its random which punches slip through the gloves. head movement means nearly nothing, the bob n weave mechanic is horribly implemented, buying xp to compete in world championship mode?.....its sad. the graphics are the only 10 in this game. i hope Visual Concepts(responsible for nba 2k11) makes a real simulation boxing game because the last 2 installments of fight night have been disappointments.go to ea forums and see the legitimate arguments as to why this game is the worst in the series and believe me it is

Hmmm, I wanted this, but I already have round 4, and was disappointed with the changes they made from round 3. Then to add insult they charge to unlock certain boxers which I refuse to pay for.
Maybe this one really is worth it, but once you get burned its hard to hand over cash. I'll wait for the price to drop a bit more.

from one gamer to another, fnc is a joke of a boxing game and not even worth bargain bin prices. the game is going through patches and tuner sets to fix its symptoms but the disease is the 1 button autoblock. defense is so dumbed down its pathetic. its no longer a game of defense and offense, the Sweet Science. fans of the sport are on the ea forums begging for patches and updates but it wont fix the core problem. also, there is latency in footwork and punching even OFFline. online is a joke. i bought this garbage day 1 and gave up on it a few days ago, trading it in. huge disappointment because boxing is my favorite sport and i love fight night

Tried the demo. The controls are horrible. For example the guy does multiple punches when you use the right analog stick to punch. In FNR3 that isn't the case, it has much more precise controls.

I really don't get how this game gets so much praise with these horrible controls compared to its predecessors.

Fight Night Round 5: We Want A New Fight Night Game

It’s been almost a decade since the critically acclaimed Fight Night Champion, the final title in a series of beloved boxing video games from Electronic Arts. Since 2011, the studio has been focused on its mixed martial arts title, UFC, instead. But with the rise of the popularity of boxing again, thanks to fighters like Floyd Mayweather and Tyson Fury, could we possibly have another Fight Night game on the way?

I agree we need another fight night, however undisputed, I’d have to part ways with that ps3 claim.

IT'SSSSSSSS FIIIIIIGHT NIIIIIIGHT!!!!
I hope they make it like round four instead of champions but ill take any fight night at this point

They need to go back to the good roots of FN R2 and FN R3. Everything after watered down the formula too much and enabled gimmicks. FNR2&3 are some of the greatest fighting games ever.

3 was fun and you could smash out so many haymakers. But I found 4 more technical and enjoyed it for that too.

navi87462d ago

At least in 3 you had to wind up your shots, it was more skill based as opposed to 4 where you just held down L1 or R1 whilst flicking the analogue stick.

navi87462d ago

Agreed, i played FNR 3 the most on Xbox 360 back in the day and using the analogue sticks to kinda mimic punches thrown was fun af. FNR 4 ruined it by just flicking the analogue stick to throw hooks, felt really unintuitive after the previous games.

They'd ruin it like they do everything these days
