I am getting seriously amped up for this game. BFBC2 has returned to heavy rotation in my PS3 for about the 4th time now...only Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls have received the same amount of my attention over the long haul.

I've even played a few rounds of BF2 on my PC recently (though it really is showing its age these days, and I've always considered it a game that never truly got out of beta).

BF3 is gonna be a blast. I'm hoping the online maps have lots of tall buildings to run through like the Project Reality BF2 mod, but with the classic BF-style gameplay.

Edit: And oh yeah, as I keep saying...I'm probably gonna buy this for PC *and* PS3/360. And I *never* do that...

PC gaming is awesome this year im saving up for a gtx 580, just to play battlefield 3 lol, and the witcher 2 i just cant wait.

I will say that this game actually gives a good reason to consider buying the PC version.

I will also say that PC gaming NEEDS this badly, because there haven't been too many reasons to game on one in the last few years other than Crysis, beyond the usual PC niches (MMO combat flight sims, BF2/Oblivion mods, and what not).

Definitely building a new rig specifically for BF3. Not only will it have the latest graphic card, but also a 7.1 surround sound setup. I used to play BF2 with 7.1 surround sound(not natively), and it adds a whole new level of immersion a lot of gamers have not experienced yet.

Who cares if it outsells CoD? Yeah, CoD is pick-up-and-play...and that's OK. I still like CoD from time to time.

But BF games are for the connoisseur. They're the caviar of FPS games. And not everyone likes caviar. But there are enough of us that it will still be wildly successful and have one hell of an online presence.

Edit: Another analogy...CoD is checkers. BF is chess.

playing cod has nothing to do with being a 'casual' gamer. all games require some form of skill to be on to or else everyone would have the same stats. playing bf3 doesn't make you hardcore and will not require some magical type skill to play it :)

After seeing this trailer nobody can deny DICE the right to call for next gen consoles. This game is going to seriously expose the outdated hardware in both the 360 and the ps3.

The right to call for next-gen consoles? Yep, of course they do.

But the industry is not collectively ready for MORE $400 or more new consoles.

In March, I bought a 360 Slim for $250. Next week, I will be purchasing a 160GB PS3 from Amazon. We're currently paying $60 for retail games.

I have NO desire to fork out $500 and then have to pay through the nose because the cost of game production goes up AGAIN.

Anybody fancy paying $80 for a game next year?

I'm perfectly content to let PC lead the way for the rest of this generation. That's how it was at the end of the last generation, this one'll be no different.

Wait until the inevitable MW3 vs BF3 screenshot comparisons. The current gen is holding some PC games back and I doubt MW3 will look not even remotely as good as BF3.

I just got off playing Battlefield 2, if anything, I can say I was totally annihilated with their expertise on ground and air vehicles. As soon as this game releases, those hardcore Battlefield 2 guys will rape you so hard then even the graphics won't save you from your sanity.
