One of the interesting things about Rift prior to launch was its ad campaign. The tagline, “We're not in Azeroth anymore”, could be seen by some as poking the sleeping bear in the room, Blizzard's World of Warcraft. When IndustryGamers asked Trion's Scott Hartsman about the campaign, he admitted that it shouldn't be taken too seriously, but that being bold was good for the game's launch.
Blizzard Entertainment has announced the opening of beta registrations for “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” inviting players to explore new subterranean worlds beneath Azeroth.
