Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka is a living soccer legend. Code may be the same, but theres no deniying that playing PES with the sixaxis/DualShock is far better than 360 pad.

There is a reason why the ps3 version of pes has recieved far more preorder's than any other version ;)

MK_Red6047d ago

Well, most PES pros have played the game on PS2 controller and the new layout on 360 controller is not as good as it can be. At least, that's what GameSpy had to say in one preview.

Daytona6047d ago

I doubt your getting suxasses and rumble all in one on this, even so you'd have to go spend another 50.00 on that controller plus 65.00 on the game, is that a deal?? Hell no!!

Lord Anubis6047d ago

This is the first Pro Evolution Soccer on PS3 - are you pleased with what you've achieved and how do you see the series evolving on PS3?

Seabass: Well I'm satisfied in that in the time frame we had, we were able to finish the code and release it on time, but that's only really within that time frame. When I look at the capacity of what the PS3 can do, I feel very strongly that there's loads of things that I wanted to do, but I couldn't do them in this version.

Proxy6047d ago

A rare sight. Someone quotes from the article and nobody disagrees....

Real gamer 4 life6047d ago (Edited 6047d ago )

they cant disagree, because is the truth, the developer said it himself. many more developer have said this before he is not the first person who said it.

Proxy6047d ago

I'm just laughing because half the time someone says something like "I don't like it." and then people disagree.

"Damn, I really though that I didn't like it, but then someone online, hundreds of miles away, disagreed with me. I guess I do like it then." [sarcasm]

Ahmadinejad6047d ago

i have the 360 demo and i should say that i am not impressed at all, it looks just like the one released a year before just a bit less jaggy. i understadn that ps3 needs about double the production time to make the gaes look identical but it is a crime to downgrade the 360 version bcause u wanted to ship the ps3 one quicker. it could of looked so much better. ( to all fanboys, i wasnt making a statement about power of the system just about development cycles and KONAMI obviosuly wanted the ps3 version to not be the inferior one as it is the case for nearly all multiplatform same day releases).

it plays well enough though still which is the most important point.

Bathyj6047d ago

How do you know they down graded the XB version?

And as for double the time they took the same time.

If any thing he said the PS3 still had power to spare and they could have done alot more except for the time limit and that comes down to spitting out a yearly up date and the first PS3 version. Maybe the XB version is just about as good as its going to get.

I'm not attacking you, I just think you're off the mark here.

PopEmUp6047d ago (Edited 6047d ago )

Seabass: I wish I could throw that x-box 360 away when I play the pes2008, but however we know that we couldn't disappointed x-box 360 owners cause we want to make money out of them. The reason that we know that x-box 360 have downgraded the ps3 version quite alot but oh well, the PS3 will be much more easier to code and be better when we release the Pes2009 next year, even though both of the version of the games work well on the PS3 and as well as the x-box 360 this year.

CVG: well thank you for your time, but before we leave do you want to give an extra words for either the x-box 360 or PS3 owners

Seabass: thank you, I almost forgot to give x-box 360 owners a word of advice, Beep You!

Just a Joke don't take it serious

Ahmadinejad6047d ago (Edited 6047d ago )

hehe, i serisouly dont understand why these developers have such a focus on making both games identical, they didnt use to before when it was ps2 and xbox or 64 and ps1, the more powerful develoepr friendly platform always got the better looking version and they didnt go out their way to make one of them look worse just to satisfy the other one. this is ridiculous. when u see gfx like PGR4 and bioshock and gears on 360 it is beyond me why they dont invest some time and effort and make a very realistic looking football game. this genre is cursed with sh*t gfx

Bathyj6047d ago

Gee you wont get hits on an article like that.

I know what he means by preference, personally I cant play a Tony Hawk game on XB because I play with my thumb on ollie but my index finger constantly bent and on grind. It too hard to do on XB so it really changes the whole game for such a simple thing. I couldn't imagine playing tekken and doing all of Kings multi stage moves on any thing other than a dual shock either.

Goodbye Youth - The End Of The PS2.

This Is My Joystick NEW Celebrity Games Columnist OJ Borg Laments The Death Of The PS2.

The power of the PS2 was the social aspect; that dragged Gamers in. Nowadays we don’t need to see, smell or entertain our friends as we have Xbox Live and the shabby PS3 online thing, but back then, we used to have to be in the same room to play these games. This wasn’t a new thing, but the games just made it all-encompassing.

Games like Tekken Tag Tournament were great for a night of lazy boozing and gaming. Track and Field with a Multi-Tap was where we would give different names to the competition, depending on who was there (“AAA” if it was the poorer player’s, right up to an Olympics once every four weeks). We even had a little drugs scandal, when we decided to ban the use of socks on fingers to help mash the buttons.

The PS2 was a once in a lifetime machine, but honestly I hadn't seen a new one available here in the states in almost 5 years. The news that they have ceased production worldwide is basically symbolic.

PS1/PS2 - PES by far
360/PS3 - FIFA by far

I can't see that changing until the next generation of consoles.

presto7174965d ago

Fifa 10 was good, but have you seen Fifa 11? NOt that much of a step up from 10. Pro Evo 2010 was not that good, but so far, what I've seen of Pro Evo 2011 blows anything and everything Fifa out of the water.

Pro Evo is back to reclaim the number 1 spot.

ad4mb4965d ago

just because pes has improved alot over pes 10 dont mean much, its still the same robotic game it has been for a while. and if you have played fifa 10 then moved to 11 its improved on a lot on what was already a great game.

Anderson84965d ago

agreed, pes11 is an improvement on last yr but it still lags way behind fifa at this point.. all the same issues that make it bad are still their

nix4965d ago

PES 11 is the Demon's Souls of soccer. and I LOVE IT!

Samus HD4965d ago

pes was good till 2011
it's a fail - they tried to change the gameplay for good but they ruined it

Cheeky Gamer4965d ago (Edited 4965d ago )

It's a shame that people such as yourself are still stuck in the dark days, clinging onto the hope that PES will be what it once was.

I was a huge fan of PES back in the day - as big as you could get, really - and I still believe that PES 5 and 6 are the best football games of all time. But I played the PES 2011 demo and deleted it after two games, because it's just horrible. Passing is decent, but that's about it; the player movement still borders on robotic, shooting is way too floaty and the presentation is mediocre.

If you really believe that the 'King' is back, then you must have a very short memory. PES this generation has absolutely nothing on the old games, nor does it have anything on FIFA this gen either; its rival is superior in almost every way.

to its awsome best, therefore alot better than fifa arcade football 11

Jamaicangmr4965d ago (Edited 4965d ago )

It's actually a step down, they ruined the Fifa 10 formula and this is coming from a Fifa player. Am not a PES fan so i really don't know if the new one is good or not. My angle is the fact that EA messed up Fifa 11, i have spoken to many diehard fifa fans that feel the same way. Some are considering to just stick with 10 and see what 12 is like.

Cheeky Gamer4965d ago

FIFA 11 is superior to FIFA 10 in practically every way, without a doubt. I find it laughable that anyone could think any different.

FIFA 10 was a great game, but it had way too many flaws. FIFA 11 is a much more refined experience, and is all the better for it.

e-p-ayeaH4965d ago

2000 - 2005 -> PES dominated since the PS1 days but then it came PES 2006 it was a major letdown

2006 - NOW -> Fifa started to show its quality on this current gen and it evolved year after year while PES was still way behind.

A shame that games like "This is football" just vanished during the PS2 days

ELite_Ghost4965d ago

pes2011 is much different from any next gen pes, this is really a huge improvement

AKA4965d ago

Its funny to read or talk to the FIFA fanboy they cant accept the true and hate PES.

If you go to the FIFA forums they talk Bs. About pes and they hate it.
In the Pes forums they respect Fifa and many will be getting the two and we aré confidente that PES11 is better and the kind is back

Boomtown Editorial: Football Rivalries

Boomtown writes: "No rivalry in the world of gaming is fiercer than the one between competing football franchises. It almost mirrors the strength of feeling people have for their club. Crossing the divide to support another franchise is a relatively rare occurrence. There are two major derby matches in the football gaming calendar and they feature a bitter enmity which has built up over the last few years. The first is Pro Evolution versus FIFA and the second is Championship Manager versus Football Manager."
