"Bioshock was the third game I ever played on my Xbox 360. When I heard about this game, I was unsure about it at first, but my friend insisted I played it. He nagged... and nagged... and nagged as I played it... until finally he spoilt the ending for me. But it doesn't mean it spoilt the joy I had playing it.

So what was interesting about Bioshock and why it's such a popular game is how it took everybody by surprise. All around in the games market, all you could see was "boring FPS" here and "boring FPS" there. When Bioshock arrived, it took gamers by storm for how different it is to the usual first person shooters we have."

A game that will be regarded as one of the best games this gen has to offer. Great story told the way a video game should tell a story. Now all devs do is bore you with long winded cut scenes that completely remove the player from the game and spoil the feel of what you are experiencing. Bioshock deserves any and all praise it receives.

Everybody should play this game. If you have a PS3, 360, or decent PC, you owe it to yourself to play this game.

Incredible environment, unforgettable characters/scenarios, excellent gameplay, the ability to play the game a different way each time, and the list goes on.

And you can pick it up cheap nowadays.

You won't regret it. It's that much more beautiful and immersive with the settings cranked up (pretty reasonable system requirements as well).

This is coming from a Bioshock-aholic. Beat the game at least twice on every platform. It's just that good!

I love this guy. His satirical posts remind us that Wii-only owners miss out on a ton of great games every year. He's what Nintendo fans really should be saying.

I know that the Wii has a good library, but it would be irrefutably better if the multiplatform games like BioShock were available on it. The point of my comment wasn't the quality of the Wii's games, but the fact that if you only have a Wii, you're missing just way too much. All I'm saying is that to get the most out of this generation, one should own at least one HD console. Seriously, at this point, there are a ton of games that pass by Nintendo's console due to hardware restrictions.

Just look at this year, it's only April, and If you only own a Wii, you'll have already missed Mass Effect 2, Bulletstorm, Portal 2, and Mortal Kombat. I think it's getting quite ridiculous at this point.

That's true. I'm not arguing against that.

I'm just saying that I believe the Wii has built up a library of respectable games, and if you're a fan of the classic Nintendo games then the Wii is a good console to own especially because of the Virtual Console which has a wealth of the older classics such as the Mario games.

And because the Wii is a relatively cheap console, I think that it wouldn't be a poor purchase.

And there's still a few games on the horizon to look forward to, such as the next Zelda game and probably another Mario game.

I can't get enough of those games, even though the're repetitive.

Yup, one and two.. they were both solid titles. I can't wait to see the story with Infinite, the Faux American setting seems very interesting.

bioshock was one of the few games i just couldn't put down. once i started playing i wanted to continue exploring and unravel the story. amazing game and bioshock infinite looks to take the series to a whole new level.

I liked the pipe hacking mini-game the most for some reason.

I could play a game solely based on that mechanic for hours.

I bought it and played it for a while at launch, but couldnt really get into it.

For some reason I dont really go for First person games that are more adventure games than straight shooters.

I didnt like the feeling of the shooting at all, with the crazy nurse type Zombie things (did I remember that right) rushing you all the time.

And when the game was released, it wasnt in widescreen. It was a 4:3 picture zoomed it. Everything felt really crampt and in your face. Your view was way too close and they ended up patching it later.

Having said all that, I know the game is supposed to be something special and I've always wanted to get back to it one day, but I do find it hard to get into those games (in first person) where you need to explore so much and read every email, message or look at every scrap of paper or whatever.

The only game I've ever liked like that was Deus Ex. Sorry, never played System Shock.

Perhaps I would have liked it more from a 3rd person perspective.

I noticed the cramped screen too when I first played it on ps3 version. Later when I bought it for PC it played considerably better and don't suffer the same issues.

Really? I had it on Xbox. It didnt come out on PS3 for about a year, and the patch was well out by then.

Hard to believe they put a known issue into the PS3 version, that sucks.

I sorta did. Played up to about 15 minutes when you arrive. That stupid pipe dream minigame...thing stopped me, but my overactive imagination prevented me from ever picking it back up. I am a HUGE sissy when it comes to horror in videogames, so it scared the phuk out of me. That's why I also stayed away from Dead Space like it was the bubonic plague. I hate surprises ("We don't go to Ravenholm" made me scream like a p*$$y).

Brilliant, brilliant game. I remember when they released the first walkthrough with Levine doing the voice-over telling you what was going on. My mouth dropped open at the visuals and I couldn't take my eyes away as he manipulated the game to destroy it self. i must have watched that video 15 times before the game actually released I was so blown away.

I also remember the opening scene after you crash, I was like "OMG! LOOK AT THE FIRE AND WATER!!"" lol

Oh and the houdini splicers, scared me lol. The game did this part very well, I was walking around and just kept catching a glimpse and it was gone. I thought I was going crazy and I was laughing out loud. Than it snuck up and mumbled something behind me and I turned around and the guy was standing in my face and it scared the shit out of me lol.

I remember seeing that mask on the shelf, and when you walk up to it guy appears behind you.

My favorite part tho was killing(bashing with wrench) all of those bunny mask guys while the nutcracker music played in the background.

What about the part where the guy was all like "Pet the puppy, yes pet the puppy, now Break the puppy’s neck” LOL man that was some tense shit. Just the whole package made it unforgettable to me.
