Bionic Commando was one of the first NES games I ever beat without using cheat codes. I adored that game, and still do. It’s one of those games that just never ages for me. I can pop it in my old NES top loader today and still have as much fun with it as I did when I was a teenager.
So as you can imagine, when I heard the game was being remade with new music and graphics by a European design team, I was more than a bit concerned.

After today’s leak, Microsoft just confirmed via Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb that a bunch of new games are going to be compatible starting today with Xbox One’s backward compatibility feature.

First up is tongue-in-cheek dictator sim Tropico 5 – a fully-fledged city-building game set on a fictional island nation. Stepping into the boots of virtual dictator, El Presidente, you’ll guide and direct the everyday life of your beloved Tropicans. Farm llamas, build textiles plants, and occasionally concern yourself with the well-being of your residents, while secretly funneling money to your Swiss Bank Account. Tropico 5 also has four-player online multiplayer where you can battle it out with other would-be dictators online.
