I actually did the same thing, except at the very end with the 4 cloaked aliens.

But I cloaked through the rest of the level.

Man when I remember the awesome AI in Crysis 1 ....this is a joke. Fucking consoles.

LiquidSnack4815d ago

"Man when I remember the awesome AI in Crysis 1"

Me and you must have played very different versions of the game

InTheKnow4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

.
Good luck trying that. Maybe on the easiest setting you can do that but not anywhere else. How do you get any upgrades without collecting Nano, something you get from KILLING the enemy?

Try walk past these guys at medium to hard and tell me what happens lol. I love this level and trying to clear out the encampments and trying to collect all the Nano possible is what this game is all about.

I'm on my second play through at this very same spot on Veteran difficulty. Have died many times trying to sneak up and stealth kill theses guys never mind when you stir the hornets nest and start shooting. ANYONE can engage the stealth cloak and run like a little girl past all the encounters lol. You don't get any Nano for upgrades by running through and that's the entire game right there, collect the Nano. The big guys are worth 500 Nano. They should just have a big dollar sign on there heads because I don't leave till the entire camp has been eliminated. Try it some time and then complain it's too easy.

I don't get what this kid was trying to prove. Easiest setting is for people who have NEVER played a shooter and the difficulty can be changed on the fly. Right where the video stopped, the next part you can't past without dealing with the cloaking enemies.

BTW, even with 360p, this was one of the best looking levels in the game. Can't wait to play on super soldier ( or whatever it's called ) difficulty. One of the best games this gen.

gamesmaster4815d ago

@above

tbh i played through on veteren and managed to kill almost every single enemy, i didnt purchase any upgrades at all since none of them really seemed that usfull. i also found at the end of some levels my nano points had gone! which pissed me off a little.

Saying "that's the entire game right there, collect the Nano" is wrong if you ask me, since the game is clearly doable without any nano killing most enemies on the hardest difficaulty.

Army_of_Darkness4815d ago

a pc fanboy blaming consoles for stupid AI in a game?! really man?! try playing KZ2-3 or uncharted 2 before making remarks like that.

On another note, this is kinda pathetic if you ask me! he litrally went for a walk in the park and cleared the game?! WTF?! LMAO!! even on easy, this should not be possible!!

Shaner_Bock4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

It is actually very possible to get through the final level on Supersoldier difficulty without being seen(except for the 4 cloakers you have to kill). Whatever Nanosuit powers and weapon attachments you've unlocked on easier difficulty settings are already unlocked on Veteran and Supersoldier difficulties making it a lot easier to get through most levels undetected. It's actually kinda lame that Crytek allowed this. So, really, the only difference you'll notice on the higher difficulty levels is that enemy weapons do a hell of a lot more damage to you. Other than that, the AI is the same on all difficulties: not the brightest.

DrHouse4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

Hes playing on easy you stupid idiot. On hard which is where I played, you cant do that, I got killed many times. The enemies cought me in cloak a few times also. You define stupidity. Go back and play your uc2 and kz3 with scripted AI. I cannot blieve you fools are comparing Free AI to scripted AI.

BrianG4815d ago

I played through the level on Soldier, which is normal, no problems at all.

So I highly doubt bumping it up one level of difficulty is going to matter.

nickjkl4815d ago

there are two ways to do AI

one give them supper accuracy

two give them the ability to protect themselves

it looks like this is a third option give them no ability to protect themselves and no accuracy or damage

so its more like easy

HolyOrangeCows4815d ago

Play Halo or Killzone and THEN tell me that this is "console level" AI.

gamesmaster4815d ago

drhouse he selects veteran difficaulty, try watching the video next time..

I beat the game od Veteran first which I had a fully upgraded suit. Then went through super soldier in just a few hours, I only killed maybe 20 people total. I just clocked and ran from check point to check point. There are maybe 6 spots you have to fight to progress.

xAlmostPro4815d ago

Just like crysis 1 the game looks pretty but as a game(un-modded) it's not that great and the AI is awful..

Which is a shame because the engine is awesome, however crysis 2 actually looks worse than crysis 1 in certain areas.. which again isn't a good thing.. ohwells

ultramoot4816d ago

This is news? What's the next "big" news? Gamer plays through Crysis 2 without cloaking?

TheSpoiler4816d ago

Who said this was big news? It's just news that you can beat the final level of Crysis 2 without having to shoot anything (considering most games force you to combat the final boss/enemy threat before you continue).

Does everything have to be breaking, huge news to be posted here?

MidnytRain4815d ago

@ultramoot

If that was the case, one of two things would happen:

1) N4G would have next to no information because only the biggest stories would be posted; the site would eventually die

2) The fanboy flames would be fanned because a ton of people would have nothing else to comment on

Tachyon_Nova4816d ago

Perhaps non-biased PS3 owner plays Killzone 3 and has fun? :)

TheSpoiler4816d ago

Funny, I'm that.

I'm writing a long overdue review of K3, but the multiplayer keeps sidetracking me so I can't finish the singleplayer.

just_looken4815d ago

ok someone post mgs 1/2/3/4 especially 3 playing the entire game excluding boss fights without detecting the enemies. Oh right last gen stuff ahh Crysis 2 rocks (lol).

Tachyon_Nova4815d ago

Oh yeah because Crysis and MGS are the same genre...

just_looken4815d ago

mgs is a steath action shooter and have the same play style exludeing regien helath and the fancy halo suit.

distorted_reality4815d ago

MGS is nothing like Crysis, they're completely different games in completely different genres.

Throwaway20204816d ago

Obviously, this isn't breaking news, but I for one found it mildly amusing. Why must the internet hate everything? Also, this has to be on the easiest difficulty right?

TheSpoiler4816d ago

Veteran, which is the second hardest I believe.

But as I wrote, this might not hold true for every person that attempts this.

ultramoot4816d ago

So let me get this straight. You wrote an article about your own "achievement", made a video about it, posted it on some random website, linked it here and then defended it to death? Bravo, sir. Bravo.

gamesmaster4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

"defended it to death"

ultramoot if thats your idea of defending something to death, then i wouldnt like to have you on my side of an arguement.

why are you complaining about this news peice, did you not click the article and watch said video? the article is exactly as it says, and thats what i wanted to see when i clicked on it.

if someone did this in KZ3 or Halo there would be a bloody uproar.

gypsygib4816d ago

I rushed through the final third of the game because the annoying film grain blocks and wavy lines were detracting from my enjoyment. I was just like, "damn, this game is so close to being beautiful but it looks like utter crap now".

It was like playing a game with a bad cable reception.

kevnb4815d ago

Must be the console version...

Tyre4815d ago (Edited 4815d ago )

then that's just a matter of opinion...the game is far from crap..the game is beautiful and i like the grainy look and the wavy lines in the suits helmet display are there to emphasise the suit being damaged, gives it a distinct look that set it's apart from other games...but why the extra negativite superfluous and superficial remarks?

I'm still learning how to look for the differences. At first I was focusing on shadows for some reason but I don't think that changes much, is it reflections that change?

rashada071814d ago (Edited 1814d ago )

It is supposed to be simulating how light actually works- so yes if light is reflecting off a surface accurately it should show reflection or an effect that matches what you are looking at in the environment. Next time you play a game look at a puddle of water there may be just a "baked" in texture that if you aren't paying attention seems like it is reflecting but it isn't. I would say though if the light is reflecting more accurately I would think that would give more accurate shadows as well.
I am still not 100% sold on it- it looks okay but I can't get over the hardware price jump for better reflections..

Taz X141814d ago

While games won't look immensely better, it opens up more possibilities overall. Understandably, the price jump is huge. But, that can be said for being at the forefront for any new technology. I'm currently using a 2080ti and while I've played a few games that enable it, the gpu also plays everything else incredibly well so it's not like you're buying this tech for ONLY that option. Enthusiasts will pay top dollar to check out the newest things, but this will eventually become an everyday consumer and by then they'll have optimized and become a lot cheaper.

warriorcase1813d ago

Ray/path tracing can be used how the developer wants it to be. Tracing can be used to calculate shadows/lighting, reflection and even audio, where audio waves are calculated on the bounce off material types to simulate enviroment and echos accuratly.

Should also keep in mind that this ray/path tracing system is different and less accurate option from Nvidias RTX branded type. McFly's is a reshade that layers over the top of the game and therefor the quality will vary drastically. For example you can see nice reflection in the Star Wars demo here but it then introduces colour clipping with the light saber. On a video of GTA 5 for example it was incorrectly projecting a reflection of a red car onto the road which caused a very faint red glow on the ground around the car.

If you want to see a good example of a game developed with ray tracing reflection and lighting in mind then you could look up the youtube video of "Control - Exclusive E3 RTX GAMEPLAY Trailer".

DigitallyAfflicted1814d ago

It supposed to add more realistic light Not actually more light effects and explosions

traumadisaster1814d ago

I hate to say it but I’m fine with fake lights, shadows, reflections. I just kind of like the effect, it’s also great it saves resources for other things.

I’ve been checking out some original Xbox games on x360/x1x and the engine has fake light streaming in through a stained glass window, and I love it even though I know it’s not real time lighting. Heck it even shifts as I move about.

I’ve about convinced my self rt and hdr just doesn’t work for me. Before hdr I would even complain damn why are the headlights killing me they are so bright.

I notice most frame rate, then jaggies, then resolution; with the last two interchangeable depending.

Other day watched an enthusiast rave over 4k and the poor guy was in 1080p. I played the same game the night before and thought wow this is clean, I wonder if it’s 4k, but knew differently and I thought wow even resolution is not always important. The next day he apologized and was surprised he could be fooled.

RaidenBlack1813d ago

EA should have released the Crysis Trilogy Remaster for this gen.

FGHFGHFGH1809d ago

How come the lightsabers don't give off any light? Even in the EA star wars game the guy uses it to light up a dark cave. I guess if it is using frostbite it will support rtx cards.
