Daniel Williams Writes: The SOCOM series has always been best known for its genre-defining competitive multiplayer, and the upcoming PS3 exclusive, SOCOM: Special Forces, has set itself up to be the ultimate SOCOM experience.
Original-Gamer.com: "Sony has decided to shutdown the servers for SOCOM Confrontation, SOCOM 4, and MAG in January 2014. SOCOM 4 and MAG were developed by Zipper Interactive while SOCOM Confrontation was developed by Slant Six Games."
MAG community is far from dead, why?
And no wonder GameStop has been selling the game used for $0.99. It's an online-only game too
That's the only problem I have with digital downloads and multiplayer only games. If they shut the servers down your screwed...
H-Hour. We need you. Deliver the tactical third person shooter goods that we deserve!
Announced yesterday, a couple of former Zipper developers are lacing up their boots again in preparation to begin working on new tactical shooter, Takedown.
I was looking forward to that game but now that zipper is touching it? I dont know they been making crap for almost 10 years now Socom 1 and 2 are the only thing good they have done
"TAKEDOWN will be developed on PC as the lead platform, and then brought to consoles afterwards"
PC is lead platform then consoles coming after.
so the tags are messed up.
I can't wait to see what David Jaffe does on pc unless it's a facebook game.
In this Episode, Jack is joined by Commander Claymore Fury via SatCom as they discuss the 2011 Tournament Season and what is in store for 2012. The Nuketown Hooligans bring a little Modern Warfare 3 Spec Ops tips and Lt. Leadhead brings us Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
After just playing the beta, I was a little disappointed. I'm gonna keep playing it some more, but so far, I'm not liking the changes. Imo, they should've had the 5 player co-op feature as a part of the beta.
stick sensitivity is garbage. turned all the way up and its still slow as hell. only complaint, it has potential though.
Horrible and awful. No redeeming quality . They didn't add they took away in the form of features and graphics and a hand gun.I'm going back to every other shooter.especially confrontation where they know how to do sound effects.how every one complained about confrontation and it ends up being the best socom on ps3.if only they gave slant 6 more money to do a full game it would be a million times better than socom 4 the end zipper eat ballzac
Socom 4 online is trash.
-The graphics are ok, although not nearly as good as Confrontation.
-The maps are garbage. Socom has always had the best map layout, NOT anymore.
-The gun sounds are horrible. They all sound the same. In every Socom each gun had an authentic distinctive sound, now it's all muffled and sounds like a bunch of paintball guns going off with no sense of direction since it does echo.
-Removed Socom's game modes for some 3 mode BS that works only in respawn minus Suppression.
-No more player customization
-No more gun customization(new weapon system is not customization)
-Garbage controller layout, no custom controller layout
=HORRIBLE gun accuracy, videos prove the system is flawed. Stand in a spot about 10 feet from a wall, put gun on single shot and your supposed best trained soldiers will shoot all over the place.
this isn't socom 4, this is MAG of Duty with some stupid ass OTS camera view. They screwed everything up. Then some of you brilliant ones will say they're fixing the camera.
Ask yourself this. WTF were they thinking to remove all the key features and classic cam in the first place? What smart guy signed off on the current state and no one said, "you know what, no one will notice all core aspects missing, they'll see the new look and be all over it because we say so".
This game has a current gen budget but apparently only saw 10% of it.
Quality and quantity is lacking in this game, simply horrible.
Almost forgot. This is a 3rd person shooter with highly trained soldiers. If they always run around aiming down the sights before they fire their gun, why in the hell do we have to press L1 to have laser point accuracy?
Does pressing L1 open our players' eyes so they can see or what? They can't aim down the sights any closer than what they were doing before L1 so again, what's the point. This isn't a FPS where pressing L1 makes sense.
this game is garrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrbageeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
