The Electronic Farmyard Preview: Mount & Blade – With Fire & Sword

The Electronic Farmyards very own Mike Fletcherr takes a look at the up and coming new expansion for Mount & Blade from Talewords.

Mike writes:
"My love for the Mount and Blade games is no secret. I first played the original Mount and Blade several years ago, and was absolutely gob-smacked when Warband came out. It really proves that quality has nothing to do with budget.

Now when I found out I could take a look at With Fire & Sword, I was over the moon. I had heard bits and pieces about it, but only what was being discussed on the forums in Taleworld. Needless to say, when I played the game, I was not disappointed."

I hope it finally comes out.

The first warband was rough around the edges, but I dumped hundreds of hours into it, and the modding community was/is pretty strong. Be interesting to see what they manage to pull off with a real budget.

Just an early access? My guess is funding is running dry. I think they're pretty bad at running their business. 8 years of development just to launch an early access build? Idk if management is letting the programmers slack or the director can't commit to something so wants to do every idea he has, or somebody is mismanaging funds, or just what's happening but somebody seems to be doing something wrong on their end from this side of the screen. Hope it lives up to the time it's taking to launch.

EDIT: Okay, so the team isn't very experienced. Still hope it's great. Really loved Warband.

The head really likes to perfect things while adding things. He doesn’t seem to focus on one thing and keeps addingn features. Which is great but games with this type of development tend to be dated upon release.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord Has Some New Screenshots

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is an upcoming medieval action role-playing game by TaleWorlds Entertainment and it is a prequel to the beloved Mount & Blade: Warband.

Mount & Blade: Warband was a huge success since it offers a great melee combat experience. And, of course the satisfaction when you crash your enemies and ride horses. Action combat and solid strategy together make the Mount & Blade: Warband a great game.
