The basic formula of Nintendogs + Cats is unsurprisingly the same as that of the original Nintendogs games. The puppies themselves are immune to the ravages of time, staying much as they were when first adopted for as long as the player continues to play the game, bar the filth and fleas accumulated through a lack of care. The gameplay available with your adopted pet revolves around routine; training the dog to perform tricks, taking it for walks, feeding it, cleaning it, so on and so forth.
