Review: Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together- Destructoid

Destructoid: Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is considered by many strategy RPG enthusiasts to be one of the best examples of the genre. Originally released on the Super Nintendo, then remade on the PlayStation and Saturn, it now finds itself on the PlayStation Portable. The story in this re-remake has been largely unchanged, but several new systems have been added to alter the manner in which it unfolds.

not a review worth reading. He hates games

DNAbro4792d ago

I haven't played this game but ive heard pretty good things about it. 5/10, really?

Optical_Matrix4792d ago

Need to get this game soon as well as Duodecim. Odd, everywhere else seems to be giving the game 10/10 and 9/10 :/

gorebago4792d ago (Edited 4792d ago )

Got this game the day it came out and I still play it. It's a great time killer.

There needs to be more srpgs.

His list of qualifiers for why most people would dislike the game are what make this game so refreshing. My apologies if it isn't a new michael jackson dancing game or angry birds.

The Most Underrated PS1 RPGs

When it comes to the best PlayStation 1 RPGs, we’ve all heard Final Fantasy this, Chrono Chross that. Two problems that emerge when a steady stream of blockbusters are released on a system is is that some of the very good RPGs are crowded out and some games are less great in the eyes of players who experienced the best games on the system.

Legend of Dragoon Proper Remake!
Enuf said.

Jiub874d ago

I would rather have a Legend of Dragoon remake over all the FF7 ones tbh

bouzebbal874d ago

Some cool games right there.. I will add threads of fate it was an excellent action RPG

RpgSama874d ago

That's a good list, I would add Koudelka, such a great Horror Jrpg and the precursor to the shadow hearts games

bouzebbal873d ago

Oh mannnn! We have a true gamer right here!

Brave Fencer Musashi and Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

Magog874d ago

Vagrant Story. So sad it never got a sequel.

pietro1212873d ago (Edited 873d ago )

Agreed. I'd love another Matsuno directed Square-Enix game especially if it took place in Ivalice.

BlaqMagiq1873d ago

Threads of Fate. Deserves a remake. That's all I'm gonna say.

Parasite Eve and my favorite Xenogears

Jiub873d ago

If they made a Parasite Eve set in NYC that was kinda open world-ish, I'd play every second of it

Fist4achin873d ago

Much needed. I second it for PE.

pietro1212873d ago

Outside of Cyberpunk, you have really good taste in games. ;P

VersusDMC873d ago

They need to stop waisting money on their yearly bombs(quiet man, left alive, balan wonderland) and just remake the first Parasite Eve. Just use the FF7R gameplay(pretty much the next generation PE combat if you think about it) and engine and you're good to go.

10 Best Classic JRPG Games That Need a Modern Remake in 2021

From Xfire: "There seems to be some sort of JRPG renaissance going on these past few years.

In addition to new entries of long-running franchises being released on multiple platforms and new IPs being introduced, some classic JRPG games are getting the love that they rightfully deserve in the form of a remake.

Case in point, Legend of Mana, and of course, who can forget the Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

But while there's a growing number of classic JRPG titles that are being remade for modern audiences, there are still far more that aren't getting enough attention and are in desperate need of a modern remake in 2021 and beyond."

Shadow Hearts & Xenogears.

Knightofelemia1167d ago (Edited 1167d ago )

Wild Arms, Xenogears, Xenosaga trilogy, Arc the Lad, Alundra, Golden Axe Warrior, FF Crisis Core, Ar Tonelico, Rouge Galaxy.

TricksterArrow1167d ago

Wild Arms already has a remake! A bit subpar, IMO. But it's decent.

O-D-C1167d ago

Anything with 'Xeno' in the title... and Baten Kaitos.

Vits1167d ago

First I would like to have the originals easily available again. Than the remakes, that way it's assured that the classic version is still "gettable" in case de remake sucks or take unwanted liberties.

5 Games Like Project Triangle Strategy That You Can Play Today

Xfire writes: "Announced at the latest Nintendo Direct, Project Triangle Strategy (a working title), is a tactical role-playing "2D HD game" described as something that is "full of choices and consequences" and that looks a lot like their vastly underrated modern JRPG, Octopath Traveller.

But while the upcoming title is visually similar to something from 2018, it actually has far more similarities with titles released way back in the past. Coincidentally, some of these titles, Square Enix ended up either developing or publishing themselves.

With that said, we've decided to round up some of the best games likes Project Triangle Strategy that you can play today."
