What to Expect at E3 2011

NextGenRetro writes: The famed E3 convention is often highlighted with huge announcements from the biggest companies around. Everyone from Sony to Nintendo save their big guns for this one show where everyone will be watching. This is where we first saw the Wii, PS3 and 360. It’s the proverbial “big one”.

That’s why Shane Craig of NGR has decided to make some predictions, just for fun.

The anticipation for e3 2011 is driving me crazy!

I am expecting agent and warhawk/starhawk from the sony press conference. If not agent then it better be gta5!maybe mgs hd collection. they will prolly show some Move software to light the fire up again.

I am expecting alan wake 2 and codename kingdoms to be the highlights of the microsoft show and a whole lotta kinect! prolly a halo CE remake

I don't own nintendo so I don't care but it will prolly be mostly 3ds related with super mario 3d being the main highlight. and maybe conduit 2 and zelda for the wii

Of course you will have the usual multiplat suspects like batman, cod, battlefield, mass effect 3, assassins creed/splinter cell etc...

Besides the big announcements, I'd say PAX East is a more enjoyable experience for Gaming fans. Hopefully, E3 goes back to the old format for everyone to enjoy.

I`m hoping Sony does what Nintendo did last year at E3, announce a shit load of games. Sony and MS got their asses handed to them by Nintendo last year, real talk.

I always look forward to E3, I just hope Sony puts on a better show for us :)

Yeah, we'll see the 20something epic exclusives from sony, and maybe some kind of PSN push...but that's all I see.

Obviously MS will continue to push support for its Kinect games, hardcore or casual, it'll be a tough sell.

Whether you hate'em or love'em, Big N is gonna steal the show this year just like the last. The Wii is (almost..?) burnout. Specs, online and all. Yet appearently Nintendo says they have some games up their sleeve?

All I can see is US/UK releases of Xenoblades and TheLastStory. Also more info on the classic gameplaying Kirby game, and the secluded new IP "Pandora's Tower" Maybe a wii sucessor reveal. Also the upcoming 1st/3rd party games, online/movie support for the 3DS.

So yeah. I'm more excited for the Nintendo Conference.

It's the Leeroy Jenkins of E3 articles, far too soon to be making guesses. However I do like the subdued attitude and low expectancy, too many sites ride hype and rumour to get readers into a misguided frenzy only for them to be utterly disappointed come E3.

i cant wait to see the e3 because sony may show some news on the eight days and the getaway 3 series maybe eyeidentify as well. because we will still see uncharted 3 and rfom 3 and the last guardian at the e3 more news on ngp and price and released date and games .coming out onthe ngp sony will announced to stop supporting ps2 games and send ps2 goes out with a bang .nomura at the sony confrence and giving a release date for ffvs 13 and gabe comes out and decideds to bring l4d to the ps3 both games on 1 blu ray kojima will make a metal gear hd collection and may do metal gear solid 5 for the ps3exclusive peace out?

I hope Eight Days gets announced and the Getaway, it will be good for a 2012 lineup since they have plenty coming out this year.

If L4D comes out for PS3 I hope it breathes some new life into the game....people might not be able to admit it but Valve have been trying to kill it off for a while in favor of L4D2......why kill Bill off for story if they said in the past the L4D wasn't about story.

The top things I'm looking for is if Sony has looked ahead for 2012 and can keep the exclusives coming out since by then microsoft might have some games in 2012.

My top things I want to see is the Uncharted 3 story trailer, Hopefully a Half life 3 announcement (it's been too long and I can't really see them making a big deal over DOTA2 when it's just coming out for the PC) and maybe a GTAV/Hitman 5 announcement........I want to say Alan Wake 2 aswell but I highly doubt it

I hope Sony don't go on too long about the NGP, it was the same last year with PS Move, although not as bad as Microsoft with Kinect but I fully understand that it needs to give info out about it i just hope they don't stretch it out for like 3 quaters of the show

Dude there's plenty of more ps3 exclusives still unannounced this year there was an article the other day stating that but i can't find it.

But yea can't wait to see what they have in store for ps3 fans next year hopefully we can get a LOD2 or LOD1 remake.

I know this'll sound fanboyish, but I'm really not too excited about Microsoft's and Sony's shows.

We all know about M$ - I don't think I need to explain their situation,

but with Sony, they don't know how to keep secrets. Not a single game revealed last E3 for the PS3 was a surprise, (other than Portal 2 of course), because Sony either told us the games before E3 or they got leaked or hinted at. Of course, most of the show will be about the NGP anyways, which should be a bit interesting.

Nintendo on the other hand will already have the 3DS launched by then, so the show won't focus TOO much on that, meaning that a lot of the time will be dedicated to the Wii. Maybe even a Wii successor. I think everyone's anticipating at least a hint about the Wii 2. Nintendo is in the perfect spot to surprise us with something.

I think sony will have a couple of surprises hopefully they keep their secrets.

I'm sure we will see a lot of BF3, Gears 3, Resistance 3, ME3, etc....definitely Codename Kingdoms from Crytek for MS...probably an exclusive announcement here and there but I'm more than happy with gaming this year....maybe Halo 4?

Horribly written article all around. I am highly anticipating Kingdoms, seeing anything on that would be a plus. Halo CE remake or Halo 4 or even Halo Wars 2 would be epic. Also even if they announce some stuff for next year I'll be excited. Wouldn't mind seeing Alan Wake 2, Metro 2034, Splinter Cell Conviction 2, Left 4 Dead 3 ect....

Nintendo always does solid stuff at E3, nothing over the top but they always bring it.

articles i bit negative. sony already said they actually have a few exclusives to announce, on top of that we're going to see a new trailer of uncharted 3 and bigger reveal for resistance 3. MW3 and GTA5 announcements would be mind blowing. MS on the other hand will probably announce 2 or 3 more exclusives, unable to match sonys lineup and will definitely focus there efforts on kinect, claiming its for the hardcore as well showing of some innovative stuff. thats what i anticipate, it won't be like last year with all those reveals but it'll be a good one.

Well we will have to wait and see what E3 brings Lets hope we see Sony announce something from Agent and please bring the rumor of a new Syphon Filter along with some new games, Nintendo most likely something with Mario in it and M$ will announce a controller for Kinect along with more carnival games with Halo and Fable for there exclusives for 2012.

I cannot wait for this year. We know about upcoming titles and releases for both software and hardware. However, I hoping for more trailers and previews. Last year there were a lot of montages and talking.

Lets see some NEW stuff across all platforms. My main interest are really these:

Will Nintendo announce a Next Gen Console? (I doubt it)
What games will be shown for the NGP?
Will Move and/or Kinect display something revolutionary?

Show us new hardcore IPs and less sequels, also maybe new console features.

Since 2009 sony has shown nothing but new games that rock socks off(other than eyepet). I expect 2 new PS3 games to be announced, last guardian gameplay and lots of NGP footage.

Nintendo will show a whole lot of 3ds footage and probably announce a new console to replace the wii.

M$ will show gears 3 gameplay, forza 4, they will show gameplay from the new crytek game, new gameplay for project draco, they might announce a new halo with a teaser trailer and they will also show loads of kinect stuff.

Sony always impress me with there E3 and i believe there's some games they going to announce that shock the gamers.

sony will likely show off its massive exclusive list, tell us about how they are leading the 3d gaming push with 30 titles this year that support 3d, tell us how the move has been a success and spend most of their time on the ngp.

sony has a lot of stuff going on his year, i dont expect them to announce any more new stuff, rather i expect them to announce new things about the things that they already have going on
