CVG - Bulletstorm 2: What we want to see

CVG:

The brash, ballistic Bulletstorm has been swearing at you for some time now and we have to say its colourful, over-the-top action is a welcome addition to the usually sombre, desaturated world of FPS gaming.

We loved People Can Fly's kill-frenzied carnival of fun, stamping our Bulletstorm review with a 9.1 score in the end.

Was it perfect? Of course not, in fact, we've got a few major ideas for Bulletstorm 2 that would help the sequel make a massive step forward from its predecessor.

I didn't love or hate Bulletstorm. It was fun for a bit but I couldn't shake the feeling that it was one of those middle-class games Cliffy B was going on about some days back. It was merely OK and not worth £40.

People Can Fly need to make a sequel to Painkiller. Now that there is a game. The last FPS I genuinely enjoyed.

I think once Gears 3 has launched and been out for a while, PCF/Epic will probably focus more on Bulletstorm.

It sounds like People Can Fly would love to do Bulletstorm 2

From Eurogamer: "We loved the original Bulletstorm in 2011, and we loved the Full Clip remaster in 2017. We'll probably also love the Switch version when it arrives end of August - a date mentioned by Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO of developer People Can Fly, on the phone to me.

But what about a potential Bulletstorm 2? That's what you really want to know. Steady yourself, there's hope."

spicelicka1761d ago

Please do! I loved that game.

Fist4achin1761d ago

Yes, more bulletstorm please!

TheColbertinator1761d ago

Would welcone it too. The game is all about mad fun.

The game didn't exactly light up the sales charts though. How do we know this? Because like LA Noire, we got a remaster nobody asked for. Next up: Ghostbusters.

I think Just Cause 3, Driver 5 and BurnoutParadise 2 look like the only ones I would care about, the rest just don't catch my attention.

Bully 2 is still possible Rockstar stated that a while back along with Red dead 3

What Could Have Been: Bulletstorm

"Coming off of the critically acclaimed Gears of War and the ever popular Unreal series, there were some that thought that developers Epic Games and its subsidiary, People Can Fly, was on the verge of finding the formula for the perfect action game. In 2010, when Game Informer made the official announcement for Epic Games’ next foray into the world of action, new and longtime fans of the successful developer felt nothing but anticipation for the company’s next project."

I liked Bulletstorm just felt fun...hopefully they can transfer some of that to the next Gears of War game.

Bulletstorm was successful game, i liked it very much.

I thought Bulletstorm was great as it was. I loved the gameplay, and I didn't have a problem with the language. I actually thought some of it was pretty funny. At least they tried to be creative with it.

I would have loved to see a sequel.

Tidybrutes4281d ago

I enjoyed the game but there is a lot that they could have improved on, shame there isn't any plans for a sequel as the skill-shot system was one of the best i can remember... much better than the awful Bodycount.

No competative online multiplayer.....What the hell were they thinking, making a FPS where you couldn't shot your buddy/ies in the face?????

The game felt a bit rushed, rough & had issues, it also relied heavily on the whole enviroment kills, lassoo kills & such & forgot the fundamentals, like precise controls, smooth controls, & other things that made all the Unreals so great (apart from the latest, which somehow lost it's way & was a lagfest online), & the Gears series.

I mean, why the hell didn't they add online competative gameplay.....the game was a no-brains shooter, that seemed tailor made for it. I finished & enjoyed the game enough, but without the online d/m's & such, it was dead in the water & traded.
Every developer jumped on the bandwagon with this co-op crap, & co-op became the new "bullet time", that made a supposedly good bulletpoint for the back of the box.
But I was & am still not a great fan of online co-op, & it p1ssed me off that developers were dropping competative for co-op online.
Really annoying that this game omitted the best reason to go online with a game, same with Borderlands & many other games that's sales would have had a good chance of being much better with competative online play, either as well as there "trendy little" co-op crap.

I really hope that they actually make another Unreal for current gen consoles, & make it more like Unreal Tournament on PS2 & Unreal Championship on 360, by dropping all the fancy crap like hoverboards & such, & just giving us a top class AAAA multiplayer shooter.
