Gaming Irresponsibly: From a girl's perspective - A Rift Review

I’ve poured about 40 hours into this game and I’m not bored yet. That’s a good sign. While very similar in game style and play to World of Warcraft, Rift has many pros that make it stand out but a few annoyances as well. I selected a RP server because that is where all my pals ended up. I can honestly say that it hasn’t been too cheesy. The best part about an RP server? No Chuck Norris jokes of course! ~Snort~

Apart from the Billy Badass and Chuck Norris remarks, I kinda liked the read. The lack of polishing and un-balanced gameplay really smudges what could be a really decent game.

Wait... lack of polish? Have you even played this game? This is quite possibly one of the most polished MMO's "At launch!" im loving every minute of it.

The game is pretty good I've played loads straight after release this is deformation one of the best. Good diversity on how to level. Can build the class U want to play. Its ok in balance to an extent. But no game will ever be truly balanced.

Must say good read and review though haven't had any crashes yet or graphics bugs so I'm lucky I guess running an ultra high end nvidia Intel rig.

Eh. Rift honestly felt like a F2P game to me. I'm just hard to please, though. When it comes to paying a monthly fee + full price for a game, I have high standards. Which is why I resold it on eBay a week later.

I don't understand how WoW is losing steam. WoW has never been better than how it is right now. That people eventually get bored is just normal - which is not the game's fault.

But if you are really bored of WoW, I don't see how a WoW clone will keep you amused for very long.

I felt the need to create an account and comment. First of all, from a "girls perspective" is just THAT, a perspective of a girl. It's on the website. It's a category. In no way shape of form was it an "Omg look at me I have bewbs and play video games!" kind of deal. It was meant to grab attention of other female gamers. It's advertising folks, get a grip. It's on commercials, in magazines and even on the internet. That's like me accusing you gentlemen of being effeminate because it sure as heck grabbed your attention enough to comment on it eh? Females think differently from men. That's common knowledge since the stone age. If you don't like it, don't read it.

As for WoW loosing steam, it is. It's more of the same old daily grind of quests only this time, made easier. Sure, they up the level by 5 points and stick in a few new dailies and dungeons. Once you hit the cap and the dailies become a bore, you seek other sources of entertainment. Rift plays LIKE WoW........ but it isn't.
