PAX East 2011: Fallen Frontier Hands-On (GameHounds)

I’m a sucker for Metroidvania-style games — even though I hate that name for them — so I was immediately excited to try developer Moonshot Studios’ side-scrolling cooperative shooter, Fallen Frontier.

Moonshot is primarily composed of ex-Bungie employees, so even though this is a completely different style of game than, say, Halo, no one can say these guys don’t know their way around guns. And it shows.

Fallen Frontier - Hands-On Preview (Crush! Frag! Destroy!)

CFD!'s Rob Rich went hands-on at PAX East with the upcoming release from Moonshot Games:

"Not too long ago, the world found out that a few folks from Bungie set off to do their own thing. Not too long ago, their budding company, Moonshot Games, announced their first title: Fallen Frontier. Not too long ago, I got to play it.

"It’s a classic tale of revenge: a law enforcement officer from Earth travels to one of the frontier worlds of Alpha Centauri with killing on his mind. The who, where, and why haven’t been dished out yet, but we do know that it’s going to be a 2D action/adventure title that shares more than a few similarities to genre cornerstones such as Shadow Complex and, of course, Metroid. Which is awesome."
