Lexis Numérique, the independent game design studio behind well-known titles including Missing: Since January and The Experiment, is showcasing three upcoming downloadable titles for the PlayStation Network this week at the Game Developer Conference 2011, occurring this week in San Francisco. Amongst the games that will be showcased at the event is Learning with the PooYoos, a fun educational title for younger players.
"This week, players of any age are invited to check out new demo versions of games for the WiiWare service – one offering competitive darts challenges, the other giving preschoolers a fun way to learn by interacting with baby animals. For the Nintendo DSiWare service, there's a new version of a classic card game, plus a wild new photo-manipulation game that can turn an ordinary face into something eerie and outrageous. The wide selection of downloadable games for Nintendo systems truly has something for everyone."
Not sure why they always make Europe and US differ by like two games. Just release the same across the board. Maybe the Yanks might learn to like cricket, lol.
This game follows the exact same formula as the first two in the series. It has both the same strengths and weaknesses as the other games, but simply changes the faces of the PooYoos and the games that they play. If you have young kids who are easily and endlessly entertained by bright colours, cute animations, and cheerful songs, however, then Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 3 will make a great addition to your WiiWare collection.
Nintendo Life writes: "Game consoles are perhaps too grown-up for your pre-kindergarteners to fully understand, and it doesn't help that there aren't many games geared toward very young children in the Wii Shop, but Lexis Numérique is slowly working to change that. Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 2 is a continuation of the first game, which was reviewed favorably here at Nintendo Life. This is more of the same remote-waving, dancing-around-the-room fun, so if your child is still young enough to enjoy the first game, they'll love this as well."
These games are actually pretty awesome even if you don't have a kid. I was playing them way before my son was born.
Game of the Year.
