Manhunt 3 Coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 (Rumor)

We’ve been hearing rumors about a new Manhunt game for a while now. Last year there was even mention that the third game in the series would be an exclusive for the Playstation 3 and utilizing the recently released Move controller to perform actions much in the same way they were in the Nintendo Wii release of Manhunt 2. The rumors are popping up again regarding the game from within Take 2, except the whispers don’t have the title slated as an exclusive."

@ #1.3 - How could Move limit Kinect support? I have Kinect and while it's great for A LOT of games, I can't see how it would apply to Manhunt. I had Manhunt 2 on Wii. There's no way this type of game would work with Kinect.

Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 will hold this game back because both MS and Sony don't have the balls to release an AO game on their platforms. Also where is Wii, PC and PSP(maybe NGP)?

I played the Wii version of Manhunt 2 and the motion controls were lame. I know that Move is more accurate than the Wiimote but it's still a game that's best with a controller.

@poontangpie-by how much? Since I've thought about this I can only recall TOB, Bayonetta(which I still played on PS3 anyway)and Mafia2 which had any differences I could spot without spurious comparison sites finding them to justify their own existence. Fact is it's nigh on impossible to find a multi that has deficiencies in any direction that outweigh other things like controller preference or where you game with mates.

That being the case add in the fact that no multi approaches the performance of either platforms exclusives and I have to wonder what your comment has to do with this debate. I also think trapperdan is misguided to some extent as only a few games need the space of BR and we have no idea what the set up for Move or Kinect support will be for MH3 as yet.

Fact is, mind, it would almost certainly perform best(as a game, not in sales) as an exclusive-be that on PS3 OR 360. The need or parity has hobbled every multiplat going as they get governed by two sets of weaknesses and use no individual console's strengths.

There's no point in making this game if they have to cut back on all the violence like in Manhunt 2. I'm not saying that the violence makes the game, but it felt hollow without.

I get what you are saying, violence does not make the game. But when you have a series (movie or game) that is known for it violence and other content then cutting make it almost a completely different thing. Just look at ROBOCOP. First one set the bar for over the top violence, second one improved on story and naratuve while still maintaining the level of violence that the series called for. The third one on the other hand, in an attempt to reach a wider audience, toned down the violence and the language. Seemed like it was a little trying trying to swear without having the balls to go all the way with it.

I love how Rockstar have abandon the PC audience. No Red Dead Redemption, no LA Noire, a crappy port of GTA IV, no Manhunt 3 etc. Thank god Blizzard still exists.

what you just said is riddled with BS I'm sick of the SDF using exclusives to back up there argument

1. there exclusives and Sony owns the IP which means it's coming to 360/PC or wii regardless

2. aside from uncharted 2 I am not impressed with there exclusives specfically MGS4,Heavy rain,GOW3 and KZ2 haven't played KZ3 but judgeing by the gameplay footage and trailer I would say it barely looks much better then KZ2

I can see them getting off on putting almost any kind of stealth kill they want these days in Manhunt 3, especially in places like the UK and US. People that say most of the violence would get censored do not know what they are talking about. As far as we know Manhunt 2 could have got the AO rating in the US for the plier castration that exposed the testicles. When people are able to take the filter off the ESRB said that would not cause them to rerate the game AO, so the producers made the decision for whatever reason to do all of that. They could have done all of that censoring so they would have 1 version to see if they could get into other countries, and to get people to pay for the uncut PC version. Pulling out testicles with pliers was something new at that time, yet now it would not really be anything big after the kind of content games have these days. At this time I think that as long as you do not rip off testicles and shove them into a characters mouth they could get off on whatever kind of stealth kill they want, especially after the kind of graphic violence games have these days.

Manhunt 1 was an awesome game btw. No blurfilter or other crap. They had the balls to releae it just the way they wanted it to.

I think rockstar should sell the manhunt name + rights to THQ since how THQ could do a better job, im saying this because saints row 2 has tons of features and THQ would deliver on unique features that is all. Plus rockstar has to keep a classy name because of titles/mods of the past that hurt their rep it sucks how the gaming media etc. cause uproar with anything brutal rockstar does.
