Having played some of the Crysis 2 SP, I can honestly say that I'll call BS on any 9+ review. But, we all have to understand that that is just my opinion. Just because I don't like something--just because I disagree with a review--doesn't mean it's that way for everyone.

I'm not trying to be mean but since you brought up kz3 in a crysis 2 article why would you want to to match kz3 on consoles. The game really was not very good in all phases. Kz3 imo is a solid 7 out of ten. I will be just as critical on crysis when I play it but guys kz2 was a much better all around game then kz3. Haven't finished Killzone 3 myself yet. It's fun so far - by far the best FPS I've played, well, since Killzone 2. I think Killzone 2 was better so far (just my opinion) Black Ops, MW2, Reach - blech.

Not really interested in Crisis. Never played the first game. Hell, when it came out I didn't know a single person who had a rig that could run it, let alone mine. I heard it was good, but not great so I didn't bother. I'll wait for a few more reviews and maybe pick this game up used later on. I've got plenty of games to play at the moment so Crisis 2 isn't exactly on my radar.

Yeap, the trolls will be buzzing around. But really, Killzone 3 scored an 85 on Metacritic, which really for a huge flagship title, isn't that good. KZ3 is a solid game, but doesn't stand out in the FPS market.

I don't thing Crysis 2 should have that hard of a time beating KZ3 in reviews if it matches the quality of the first Crysis on the PC. But then again, anything is possible.

Good for Crytek..we all know the 360 version is good, I'm more interested in how the PS3 version is.

Crytek said that the PS3 version would be just as good...they even claimed that the way they are running on the PS3, their engine is better optimized compared to the competition.

According to reports from GDC, it was the exact opposite. Horrible framerates, screen tearing with bad pop in textures...I really hope they fixed this!

well we all saw the article saying how 'bad' the PS3 version was...but then saw the video which showed absolutely nothing that the guy was talking about...

the writer even went as far as to say 'i know this video doesn't illustrate what I am saying, but...' and blamed it on HD video capture as the culprit...

now all of a sudden shitty low res video capture software makes a game look better than normal...I buy it for sure...

I'm interested to see how it turns out...and won't be surprised if the PS3 version is again...the weakest of a multiplatform title...but that article was simply horrible...

Can never be too sure. The PS3 frankly has a well known history of bad ports. The freaking funny thing it's been years and still some developers go ahead and come up with bad ports.

So far, I am not impressed with Crytek and what they are doing. They are just not delivering on the promises they made so far.

It will have a great campaign no doubt but I'm kinda skeptical with the MP portion of the game. Crytek should give us the choice to turn off Kill Cams. Those things piss me off sometimes. Anyway it's not something that will turn me off from this game because I doubt I will play Crysis 2 multiplayer because I've been playing Gears, BC2, TF2, KZ3, LBP2 and GT5 a lot lately.

Lastly, I hope the retail version is optimized to use SLI because that is the reason why Pier 17 is unplayable on my rig.

My opinion isnt popular but i found the first game to be average in sp and mediocre in mp , only it had insane graphics and outstanding mods .

I'm hoping for a better sp this time around .

Either way no way i'm playing it on consoles . They can have their turf war to determine who got the least inferior version among still inferior versions .

Agreed, playing this game on PC is the best way to go. The MP demo left a bad impression on me even though I already maxed my level. The campaign will be the deciding factor if the game is good or not.

I said that I hope they "optimized" SLI because Skyline was smooth 60fps when I forced AFR2 but Pier 17 is unplayable at 15-20fps at the same SLI settings. To get playable framerates for both maps I had to set the SLI settings for the game to Single-GPU but they are both at 35-45fps compared to Skyline's(while in AFR2 settings) smooth 60fps. My settings are at 1080p Hardcore V-sync enabled.

I'd really love to see this game at 60 fps/ 1080p on Hardcore, but I'm waiting on information about new CPUs coming out later this year. :( It seems like I'm limited to Advanced at 1080p at the moment with my old quad and GTX 460 1 GB for a smooth frame rate. I only buy new CPUs once every few years, so I'm waiting until I'm sure about the model I want before I buy it. I'm so glad I waited on the initial batch of Sandy Bridge chips and played it safe, though.

Because fanboys get insecure about anything being rated higher than their precious exclusives. I mean ffs being exclusive has nothing to do with how good a game bloody is. The game is as good as it has been made. Sure exclusive games harness more power generally on the PS3 but visuals don't make the entirety of a game... I think my goty every year this gen has been multi-plat for a reason, because they were simply my favorite all round games.

9/10 is really an excellent score considering the fps scores in this gen. The bar in FPS has been raised so high that when a title gets a 9 then it must have sumthing unique dat stands out of the crowd.

I hope Crysis 2 will be the answer for all those who still think crysis was only bout visuals & nothing else....If crysis was only bout visuals it wouldn't have scored 91 on Meta...

Anyway Gamers...This year will mark the FPS @ its best with titles to come......So far it started gud wid Bulletstorm,KZ3,crysis 2....

I'd like to know the reasoning behind the 9/10 score. Many games nowadays are trying very hard to reach that especially when the bar has been raised so high. It's an OXM mag so I guess this applies to only 360 games in general. Let's see what the multi-platform sites get to say about it.

I think it's more the fact that 99% of all multiplats ( which make up the majority of all games on both consoles ) look and run better on 360.

I know it's hard for you to deal with. But the first step to recovery is acceptance.

The only times I've seen PS3 versions of multiplatform games scored lower is when they have a good reason to. Games like Fallout 3 which had notably longer loading times and Bayonetta which had performance issues are good examples.

It works both ways, so the supposed "anti-PS3 media bias" excuse isn't going to work.

The sad thing is, I wonder how many people will buy it while torrents are going off every min.

To speak the truth, I wont buy it. Why? Because theres a red box down the road and it has tons of games. I simply rent for a few bucks, beat in a few hours and return. I will rent longer depending on how the multi player is.

Typically If I rent a game and with in a few hours i'm blown away I quickly put it on my buy list once the price comes down. I buy most games at the $40 mark. It also helps to wait later on for the GOTY editions that include all the DLC for free as well. Being and early buyer these days can burn, with patches after patches and tons of DLC tossed out. I just like to wait a bit.

The problem with waiting is the community gets smaller. The excitement of day 1 (or few weeks after release) isn't there. I know I enjoy my movies day 1, and same applies to my games.
If you like to play games....including the non-AAA titles, getting a game 4 months later isn't as great. Plus, what about your friends (psn/live)? Many move on to the next big thing...but your just getting started! In effect putting you behind. Not as bad an issue for non-completists, but those of us trying to get that trophy/achievement might be sh^t out of luck!

But I'll admit this year with so many persistent fps's of high quality...it's damn near impossible to play them all. I can see a lot of non-fps games getting hit in their sales. Sure some people will buy racers or fighters...but, your kidding yourself if you think fps doesn't hurt the sales of other games. Some people play only COD! I don't understand it....but it's true.

I'm pretty sick of shooters at the moment but I'll probably get this. I enjoyed the multiplayer demo even though I'm not really a multiplayer gamer. The suit powers are as cool as I'd hoped they'd be. The predator style heat vision and the heightened jumping/climbing especially.

Crysis 2 does look way better than Crysis 1. The thing with Crysis 1 is it showed vast areas. If you go close up to almost any texture though, you will see that they are really bad. Even on very high settings. Crysis 2 improved greatly on textures but made the game slightly more enclosed which is why I am guessing people think it looks worse.

Shackdaddy836, that was a perfect way to describe it. I completely agree. The textures have been improved and the lighting is improved, but the scale is smaller.

I also think that people are being swayed by the art direction and setting of the first one. For some people a tropical island is always going to look better than an urban environment. But technically Crysis 2 is definitely better than Crysis 1 from a purely graphical standpoint, and it also runs better.

Seeing how Crytek will release Crysis 2 without DX11 and as a PC gamer I gotta wait for some dam patch to be able to play Crysis 2 in DX11 mode. Screw Crytek, screw any Crysis 2 review that's higher than 7, and I hope Homefront outsells Crysis 2.

I just got into the Battlefield play4free beta so I won't be getting Crysis 2. I'll save that $60 for BF3 or any game that doesn't require a DX11 patch. how shitty is that?

Well Mr. FatOldMan we obvious have two very different opinions about Crytek. You seem to be OK with Crytek just leaving out DX11 and waiting for a patch. I don't. DX11 is the new tech and I want developers going all out for DX11.

I find it repulsive that video game prices continue to increase but the quality is going down. What if Crytek decides to charge you $15 buck for the DX11 patch then what? cause i wouldn't put them pass it after watching millions of ppl buy MW2 and Blops which are basically $60 DLC of Mw1.

I know ppl who live in the Ghetto but yet drive $70,000 cars. I don't live in the Ghetto and my current PC ran me $2000 and my new build will cost me $2500 so me saving money by not buying Crysis 2 is not a rich or poor issue.

It's an issue of why waste $60 on Crysis 2 when the developers have slacked on the quality. DX11 Patch that is total crap and i will not support a developer being that lazy. I don't buy games from developers who i believe have not done the best job for my platform and many here feel the same way.

no i will not buy Crysis 2 because it's pretty lame that DX11 will not be ready on the release date. this little stunt is only gonna screw gamers in the end. I feel Crytek is gonna charge for a dx11 patch.

Hell I can download the DX9 version and force DX10 through the code right now if I wanted to. Many PC modders have already made the Crysis leak more than playable.

now down the road if Crytek releases Crysis 2 with the DX11 intact along with some DLC for a cool price then yeah but as of right now leaving out DX11 to me shows a real lack of quality.

I got plenty of new AAA Quality DX11 games to play plus i'm in a Beta right now so screw crysis 2.

Good review I guess but very hard to predict what it's gonna get overall. Funny how the importance of "standing out" in the FPS genre only comes into play when a Killzone game gets released.

After this reading and my good time with the demo I wont be cancelling my Crysis 2 copy.

if they made it properly (you know, by not being idiots - still totally possible to make the pc version better without sacrificing the console version) it would have sold even more

battlefield 3 will also be a buggy mess of awesome, and the next bf after that will be the same - etc.

but yeah. devs are severely underestimating the scale of the pc audience. Also, dx11 isn't hard to implement at all from a programmer's point of view. Some suite probably said "oh we would need to hire X experienced DX11 professionals who have each made 5 DX11 AAA titles in the past to do that, lets score it off the list without any further considerations because our shareholders are not interested"

the first crysis and Warhead still stand as the best looking shooters money can buy, well metro2033 actually too but, the gameplay in crysis 1 and warhead are the best i can remember

Anyways I hope this game lives up to being a good game, I got Killzone 3 but that doesn't mean I want to spend all the time playing it, I like having a huge number of titles to play.

I been playing Dead Space 2 New Game+, GT5, some Halo Reach and right now Red Alert 3.
