Homefront feels very familiar to fans of modern shooters such as the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor series. This is not to say that Homefront is a facsimile of existing games but Kaos Studios has taken some elements present in all of these games to make players feel accustomed to the game right off the bat. The control scheme is similar to those present in the recent COD games – Movement is tied to the sticks, Y switches weapons, A jumps and by clicking the sticks you can sprint or use a prone or sitting position.
Jack writes: "Back in March 2011, the first-person action shooter Homefront arrived on the Xbox 360 from THQ, along with a storm of publicity which included a really cool live-action trailer"
Last week game dev Steve Thornton took to Twitter to ask: fellow devs, have you ever slipped something into a game you're working on that's just for you? The replies are well worth a read.
Deep Silver and Humble Bundle are currently offering the first Homefront game for free. This offer will last for the next 48 hours, so be sure to visit its Humble Bundle page in order to acquire your free copy.
get it! the single player is excellent and intense and the MP is pretty fun, too.
Ehh, PS4 needs these deals too, or consoles in general we always get discounts rarely free stuff that's REALLY free (games with gold / psplus isn't free)
waiting for a couple reviews then might get it....cant wait
"The current build of Homefront is looking very tight. The controls were familiar, the action was well paced and it was a pleasure graphically."
Hmm, sounds great to me!
As I said in the last article pre order this game right now if you haven't yet. From what I was told the single player experience alone is worth the $60. Also be prepared to have a totally different perceptive on war and expect the US Army to ban this game because it shows the ugly side of war and that its not always a happy ending as other shooters would make you believe. War is ugly and innocent people (kids) die because of politics.
He said the game "ran silky smooth", so does that mean it is 60 FPS? Or just a really stable and reliable 30 FPS?
Buying on day one.
Should be great fun..
