Makes you wonder with all this "nicey-nicey" talk between Sony & Valve lately what the possibilities that can be with Steam, maybe a CS2 and the use of the PS Move for a mouse & keyboard replacement. Interesting for sure to speculate but we won't know anything for a while I believe (unless there is a leak).

Valve is only comprised of about 280 people. And everything Valve releases is gold imo and worth waiting for. Portal 2 next month cannot come soon enough. I loved the first and I still want my cake! CS is still the most played game on Steam to this day.

what i noticed about valve is they keep recycling the same audio for all their games. I heard walking on metal floor noise in portal and the same exact sound was in Css, it may have even been in earlier games of their idk.

Na, half the fun in trying to learn CS is how the guns shoot in different encounter and adjusting the cross hair to get that shot, Iron sights would kinda not make it feel like cs, and It's would be nice to see games not try to do everything like COD, especially when CS is still king of shooters.

The whole point of Eps, is that they were supposed to come out quickly. The weren't supposed to be dramatically improved technically, and we all bought that given they wouldnt take long to release, but that hasn't happened.

Well, Gabe said a couple years ago that Ep3 is being worked on. Ep3 could essentially be worthy of being called a sequel as it could end up having a decent length to it.

The Eps are intended to be 1-3, so, no HL3 until HL2 is truly finished. And I'm fine with that. HL3 shouldn't happen until they make a new engine too which probably won't be until just before the next consoles launch. Even then, I think Valve are having some success by staying a gen behind as their engine runs on millions of outdated PCs.

We'll get another Counter-Strike game when they're ready to release a new game engine as well as Half-Life 3. That's how Valve operates.

Release community request changes to game over 10 years old.
Release game content for free on games almost 5 years old.
Release support content from community, even coming to 10 years.
Release SDK for community to make content.
Release other tools for community.
Support mods on Steam.
Run the largest digital distribution platform for games (Steam).
Largest supporter of Indi developers.

All this and they are doing Portal 2, DOTA 2 and at least one other surprise with less than 300 staff.

Just shows how talented Valve are really, easily my favourite developer.

Steam, the gamers choice.

Oh and I forget, they support 4 platforms, PC, Mac, PS3 and 360.
Well I say support 4 platforms, Microsoft is so sh!tty with Xbox Live Valve can't offer its full talents to that closed platform.
