The Top Eight Sexist Games

One of the ongoing criticisms about video games is that they are sexist. All women are presented as sex objects in chainmail bikinis, princesses to be rescued, or impossible objects of desire. There's some truth to the ladies not being well represented, and sometimes, they really get the short end of the stick in games. Sometimes, though, you'll wish you'd chosen a female character. Here are eight games that put one gender over, sometimes way over, the other.

You do realize you just said "treating women as lesser than men FTW"?

I don't want to sound like a feminist, but saying "nowadays sexism is blown out of proportion" is an obvious sign that you're a guy. Many women are still treated as though they are less than men or that they should stay in the kitchen (sandwich jokes in 2011? really?), they still get payed less than men in many workplaces, they still have the stigma of not being as good at doing things as men (the whole 'are women capable of being on the front-line in war?' argument), and so on. The portrayal of women in video games might not be the most important womens issue, but it's a sign that most of the entertainment industry is still a male dominated and male-oriented media.

Anyone find it hilarious that SPIKE TV of all web sites is writing an article about sexism? Not to mention its horribly written. Sheesh.
