A complete shot in the dark, but I would assume max settings would require crossfire or sli setups. As for DX11 cards, the 6950 is 300 dollars but with some effort it can be flashed into a 6970, essentially a 80 dollar upgrade.

Nvidia GTX 560 Ti is the best bang for the buck right now, excellent performance at US$ 250.

You can find an ATI Radeon HD 5870 for as low as $200 nowadays. I have the 5870 and it runs everything on max. Plays the Crysis 2 demo on max settings without any problem (haven't checked, but it feels like 60 FPS).

But by the time BF3 releases, the NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti should be like $150, maybe as low as $100 with rebates and stuff, so you should get that as NVIDIA drivers are better, imo.

My GTX 460 ran the Crysis 2 beta at max (1680x1050) at 30+fps. I only paid $129 for it after rebate. Keep in mind, though, that I'm also running 8GB RAM and a 1090t CPU.

No, it's not console. Not sure where you heard that. In fact, go watch the most recent 3-min demonstration. You clearly see keyboard prompts. We aren't going to see much about console graphics with this one.

If this game actually has large, dense urban landscapes that the one in the pic, I will be HUGELY impressed and happy.

I want to be able to enter all those buildings though...and have them all be destructible via Frostbite (much easier to just bring down a mid-rise that a sniper is sneaking around in than to try to search him out...lol).

Jaggies are slightly resolved with SRAA but not as much as MSAA/SSAA. But the benefit here is thin edges (which is an issue with MLAA). Notice how the fences are COMPLETELY missing with no AA? That's because fences or foliage that have 2 or more edges near each other (thin objects like chain link fences or foliage at distance).

However, SRAA shows the fences (this is due to the sub-pixel reconstruction being done, this pulls in extra sub-pixel information that no-AA or MLAA does not do) and they look almost the same as SSAA. And supposedly SRAA has much better performance than MSAA.

MSAA/SSAA look to have the best IQ still, but SRAA looks like it's right under those two methods in terms of IQ but with performance that is much quicker.

Make sure you have the window maxed out...those pics scale down. The difference is noticeable in the jaggies, especially with distant objects. But they're ALL pretty. Very "Mirror's Edge" like.

If everything can be destroyed, it takes much of your CPU. Way to much for most PC's to be handle (Dont start about Red Faction Guerilla. Because thats diffrent).

Expect destructible enviroments, but dont expect the entire world to be destructible.

Here's my issue: if those buildings are not destructible, that also means they probably would not be enter-able. Can you imagine how much people would camp if they could sit in any one of 50+ windows in a single building? I *want* them to have that ability, but I also want to be able to bring the building down on top of them rather than spending all my squad's time clearing a single building of a single sniper.

Regardless, what other game engine can boost this type of visual glory and have almost full destruction. Maybe Crysis 2. No other game engine out now...and looking that amazing

It's still a post process. But it uses MSAA as a reference and applies that information via a bilateral filter weighted by the surrounding pixels. It's better than MLAA since it uses actual sub-pixel information, but needs more bandwidth.

My eyes just came. I don't think my 4870X2 will be up to the challenge. I'm hoping nVidia's Kepler GTX 600 series will be released in time (or shortly after) for this game. I'm going to be building a new rig 4th qtr 2010 or 1st qtr 2011.
