Ubisoft feels "guilty" for BG&E flop

Ubisoft still feels sore over the failure of cult 2003 adventure favourite Beyond Good & Evil to set tills ringing, according to the producer of the forthcoming HD makeover.

"Everyone at Ubisoft knows that Beyond Good & Evil did not get the success it should have had, and, in my opinion, everyone feels a little guilty about that," Wang Xu told Eurogamer.

Consequently, the publisher is pulling out all the stops to make sure the HD version, which arrives on Xbox Live Arcade next week, is done right, Xu insisted.

This was an amazing game. I remember when my dad bought this game. It was really fun and the story was amazing. I really liked this game.

agreed, I bought that game day one. And the sentiment online at the times was the same thing. Nothing but praise for the game, but no one bought it. At least I know I dont have to feel guilty for buying a great game, the day it came out.

If you feel so sore about the original, stop trying to make amends with a HD remastering, and release the god-damn sequel.

I've been waiting nearly a decade for it!

Kalowest4809d ago

The Sequel depends on the BG&E HD sales.

They will help, but the real factor is Michel Ancel. He does what he wants, when he wants at UBI, and right now the sequel is on the back burner because he is working on Rayman origins.

I still feel guilty for buying Black Ops. That game was so s*** it's depressing me now just to think about it.

NEXT WEEK .. purchase as soon as it comes into the store

Hey Ubi, here's a gun, don't shoot yourself in the foot.

Every industry has these issues

Some companies I’ve worked for were great and some were toxic as hell (UPS when I was a teenager was extremely toxic and I have heard it still is) It all starts at the top. They either hold people accountable , set standards and treat people with respect or the crap rolls downhill.
