I don't see what the point of this is. It's not like they'll bother listening to the one important question on the survey, that being this one....

"What platform would you like to see Monster Hunter on?"

This is capcom we're talking about.

Myst4823d ago

There is one main system that has not had a monster hunter yet that should have one. I don't see why they have that question there. All the ones they listed save for 3DS and PS3 have one.

Besides haven't all the fans of Monster Hunter been screaming for one? Also before Tri jumped over toward the Wii didn't Capcom state they would appease the PS3 owners who bought one just for Monster Hunter?

DragonKnight4823d ago

When's the last time you could believe anything Capcom says?

The survey is a complete waste of time. They will take the most innocuous suggestions seriously because it won't impact what they want to do, but the truly important question will definitely be ignored. I would be money on it.

Myst4823d ago

Yep I agree. I will say Capcom has some good ideas this generation [Lost Planet] and some new ideas for Monster Hunter as well as the resurrection of some old franchises but overall it seems like the fire is slowly starting to die down. At least when the game is released only a select few seem to be doing quite well and then it depends on the region it's released in.

Myst4823d ago

Don't see why I got a disagree it's pretty true, Lost Planet 2 had a good idea but was poorly executed. I still find it fun, but it's just not what I expected. Monster Hunter is great but they keep skating around the PS3 sticking in "familiar" territory.

As I was talking about bringing back some series I meant MvC3 which is doing well, and perhaps others which will make a come back. When I say region based as well, it's mainly in fact that LP2 did better overseas as well more so than it did here.

DragonKnight4823d ago

They need to bring back Onimusha. But that would be what we want and that's not possible. lol.

@ DragonKnight

you get a "Well Said" bubble

Did Capcom ever think about their true niche fans on the playstation side when Keiji Inafune decided to FINALLY, AFTER A BLASTED DECADE make Megaman Legends 3 (wait for it.....................) FOR THE 3DS?

WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU? !?!?!?!?!?

DragonKnight4823d ago

Of course not. It's the same as SE. Most Japanese devs DO NOT ever listen to fans. They don't even take fan reaction into consideration. And many US devs are beginning to follow suit.

I mean, look at DmC. Being developed by a UK based development studio with a very well designed game that the studio hates, and another mediocre game the studio loves. They are handling a beloved title. They made changes nobody is looking forward to, and do they care? Nope. But is it necessarily their fault? Partially. Crapcom told them to do it, and likely don't care that fans hate what's happened to the franchise.

We are the ones that pay their salary, you'd think they'd care if we were happy or not.

WHY THE HELL WON'T THEY BRING IT TO PS3!!!!1 ARE THEY MAD!111

rezzah4823d ago

Do the survey and pick "PS3"

DragonKnight4823d ago

Won't help. MH is never coming to the PS3.

Graey4823d ago

Could you imagine a Monster Hunter on a PS3. With headsets, and able to group. Hell even off line co-op or something. shit would be amazing if they got the formula down right. It's a great concept but they sure do skate around the PS3 or 360 release of one.

My Time As A Monster Hunter

Goomba Stomp: "In Japan, the Monster Hunter series is something of a legend. Every gamer worth their salt in Japan knows about Monster Hunter, as each new iteration in the franchise, is met with high critique and commercial success. However, this is not the case over here in the States. The first time I had ever even heard of the franchise was a preview for the series’ third installment, Monster Hunter Tri, in Nintendo Power. The idea of hunting giant beasts with an online team seemed like a really cool concept to me, especially when I learned of how well the series was received overseas. Little did I know that Tri would go on to become the single greatest experience I have ever had with an online multiplayer game."

It's like drugs, people who haven't try it looks at it like it's some kind of outlandish, weird thing they'll never understand why people are addicted to it. But once you try it, preferably with friends... suddenly you have 200 hours logged in in just a short time you'll never guess it's a capcom game.

too bad they chose to release it on a niche platform in the west, if only capcom has the brain to upgrade the graphic and release it on PS4/XB1 I'm willing to bet it'll be as huge as overwatch, only you won't be bored as fast.

CorndogBurglar2665d ago (Edited 2665d ago )

Its funny because even though i know Generations is exactly the same as Monster Hunter 4, just with even less story and the addition of Arts, its still addicting as hell. There's just something about it. The preparation before going out to fight a particular monster is probably my favorite aspect of the games.

Knowing your enemy and what weapons, tools, and items to bring is something missing from a lot of games that is done really well in this series. That strategic feeling before the actuall nonstop action begins once you find the monster is unlike any other game that I've played.

fenome2665d ago

The only one I ever played was the first one on PS2, but I really enjoyed it.

Best multiplayer experience and best feeling when you win.
