CVG: Hitman 5 - How to Make it the Best Yet

Ask Square-Enix about Hitman 5 and they'll shake their heads frantically and deny any knowledge of it existing. In fact, developers IO recently sent out a Tweet informing the world that they weren't working on it.

This gen ruins all former glory titles.

Hitman V will be ruined with:

1. Too much focus on gun variety & blood/gore/sex appeal/rock & roll music/hollywood voice talent/ DLC weapons.

2. Useless online mode & Co-Op which will claim to innovate.

3. Dumbed down story/short single player.

The hitman series is great, but if it had more elements of theif it'd be perfect. It really just needs to stick to the same formula, and improve logically on that.

This article is stupid as hell and hardly describes any improvements outside of A.I and hiding places, as if they would leave it the same? Missions could already be done in multiple ways, and the A.I was pretty unforgiving on harder difficulties, with little to no save points. You were outnumbered fairly quickly, and weren't made of titanium.

Adding better hand/hand combat would be a great addition, as it was a bit clunky...Story was solid, pacing was great, controls were fine...

I liked hitman blood money because of the different ways to tackle each mission, but the A.I could stand a little revamping, Case in point, I was dressed up as an FBI agent in the mission The New Life, I stood in the pool waste deep, and she just got in the pool turned around and paid me no mind.
In the real word, wouldn't she be suspicious? Maybe wait until I get out, or maybe the suspicion bar would rise up a little... Maybe?

i hope they start to incorporate more open world environments, make them feel more believable, with more npc's that react to what you're doing. more options to snipe the target from building tops. definitely fix the physics so when we timescale the bodies don't go flying into the ceiling. if they incorporated the bulletholes from red dead redemption into hitman, it would easily be the greatest thing they could do. improve blood splatter and maybe incorporate gore in terms of how the gun shots/head shots where in manhunt 1 and 2 and red dead. would love some sort of cover system for shootouts, but not make it part of the base gameplay. ability to screw/unscrew silencer mid level. turn on and off laser sight. it would be great if we could outfit 47's outfit before loading a level. so we could appear as a cable repair man from the beginning or something. that way you could go right to the hit without having to kill anyone else. an option for a plastic bag over your silenced weapon ala mr. brooks to stump forensics. i'd really overall just like to see them take the series to a much more realistic level like kane and lynch 2 did, but with better blood splatter and no handicam/ censoring headshots. and of course, kyd has to score it.

Sounds like you want the next Hitman to be more like a shooter. While I'd like to see them expand the stealth kills some more like in Blood Money. Make things seem like a accident or even be able to plant suspicious items/murder weapons on some random NPC. Also I'd LOVE if they kept the newspaper notoriety but just expanded it like the MGS ranks after you complete those games.
