Islands of Wakfu, a two-player action adventure exclusive to Xbox Live Arcade, was finally finished on Friday by French developer Ankama.
"We will announce the date of the release as soon as it is confirmed," an Ankama spokesperson told Eurogamer. "It should be done this week."
Islands of wakfu is an Xbox Live acrade spinoff game to the MMORPG Wakfu and Dofus, developed and published by Ankama Play, so it already has it's fan base that will probably be buying this prequel to those games they love. The story in Islands Of Wakfu is set 10,000 years before "DOFUS" (a MMORPG set in the same universe), its the end of the world and the last Eliathrope sets off with her brother (A dragon) to find the mythical islands of Wakfu to survive the threat looming over the world and to try and preserve the remains of their civilisation.
Islands of Wakfu is an action/adventure game set in the universe of the world-famous DOFUS and WAKFU MMORPGs. Gameplay revolves around the complementarity between the two principal characters: Nora, the young Eliatrope, and her brother dragon, Efrim. Nora is a close combat fighter, relying on her fists, feet, combos, and dimensional powers. Efrim is a long-distance shooter who is able to fly.
They breathe the Wakfu in and out, bloom Wakfu flowers, and harvest Wakfu honey that can be used to buy upgrades for both characters.
Islands of Wakfu has received an important update, which offers in particular new difficulty modes and the possibility to unlock items in the MMORPG.
I used to play there MMO, Dofus :) Fun game.
Kinda hasn't aged well though in my opinion... there new mmo Wakfu looks alright though I guess. I like the battle systems in 'em.
looks great. finaly, a reason to dust off the old xbox360
wakfu looks to be way better but they better have daily quests and suc to do all the time because in dofus I finished the quests pretty fast and it was less then 70 or something back when i played. Im in the wakfu beta and it is really awesome to play
