TGN: Stacking Review

There is a demo on both XBLA and PSN so there is no excuse not to give this game a chance. Be sure not to miss out on what is sure to be one of the most original and enjoyable arcade titles that you have played in a long time.

That game pays off one fourth of whole PS+ subscription.

Yet we'll still get articles questioning it's value.

sigh...

... so it's normal that we get that discussion, especially when reviews and players mention it's a little on the short and easy side.

For 800 points this would have been a must-buy for me, but for 1200 points, a game needs to be really special if it wants me to pick it up, because at that price it's competing at full retail games that are now in the bargain bin.

You can get Assassin's Creed 2 GOTY or other great games you might have missed, for 12-15 bucks.

I'm saving my points for Beyond Good and Evil HD, which will be a bigger and longer game, and comes at only 800 points, so it will be much better value.

I'm not sure how MS rolls. Not sure if that's a lot of points or not Yi-Long.

I do know however if you have a chance to play this game then you def. should take the chance. Very creative concept behind this. Cross between Little Big planet and "The Little" ...a cartoon show back in the days.

I don't know something about this game, and I love how they don't speak but give you the old say something then it pops on an old tv screen effect.

I'd score it a 9/10. Again not sure on length, but the presentation is nice. Visual are very nice, just really the whole take is nice.

I can see why its a downloadable game however, though I do hope for a sequel. Maybe some type of episodic type thing. How ever you want to cut it...if you have to wait a couple of months for a price drop that is fine, just make sure to keep it on your to buy list when you can.

... and I will 100% buy it once it hits 600 points in a couple of months, just like a bunch of other games that were priced at 1200 points and are probably a bit too short and easy to really warrant that price-tag, like Costume Quest and Limbo.

:)

Like I said, at 800 points I would have bought this day 1, but at 1200 points I rather wait a while.

Brutal Backlog - Stacking

Stacking was released in 2011 by Double Fine and remains one of their oddest and most intriguing titles. It's a puzzle game masking a serious message, but is it worth picking up today? Jump Dash Roll plays with some dolls before giving its opinion in this week's Brutal Backlog review.

Three more fresh faces arrive for Xbox backwards compatibility – Are they worth the return?

Carlos writes "March may not have provided equal delights when compared to that of February’s backward compatible arrivals, especially with great games such as GTA IV, Borderlands 2 and Hitman: Absolution arriving amongst the masses on Xbox One last month, but that doesn’t mean we’re any less content when new additions come to the program.

Today sees a fresh batch of titles join the fray, but with so many to choose from now, are they worth going back to or should they be left on the shelf forever more?"

Stacking was a lovely little game

Cobra9512626d ago

Yes, but it's not there yet for me. Bummer. Was looking forward to reliving that one today.

Pancit_Canton2626d ago

Yes. If you got nothing else to play.

Fist4achin2626d ago

Yawn. I don't get it. Xbox doesn't seem to want to open the purse strings to bring in new IPs and with the selection of bc games, you can't tell me developers wouldn't want to get more.money on old IPs. I'm sorry to say, but Xbox feels like they care less and less for the gamer's...
