Halo 2's Matchmaking, designed to mirror the on-the-couch experience of playing with your friends in the living room, returns, retuned and upgraded for Halo 3. Since the Halo 3 Public Beta, some things about Matchmaking have changed, some things remain the same. Here's what Bungie said then, updated where appropriate for Halo 3:
In Halo 3's Matchmaking system, you'll find a ton of new options and abilities. Bungie's made their best effort to improve the already social nature of Matchmaking by giving you some new powers while you use the system to find games and opponents. Now it's easier than ever to meet people you like, with similar skills and experience.
Not every Halo game has been a banger, but the franchise still has a raft of the greatest games of all time.
Infinite is a dumpster fire and as much as I like ODST, in no universe it ranks above Halo 2. This list is trash.
Best to worst: Halo 3, Halo 2, Halo Reach, Halo CE, Halo 4, Halo ODST, Halo Infinite, Halo 5.
The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?
I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*
Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.
Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.
The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.
When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....
The Xbox 360 launched in North America 18 years ago, and is now officially old enough to buy you a drink in Europe.
Great platform, and many of its games (not bc) still hold up well to this day. Like the PS3, I keep a 360 hooked up for those games you can't play any other way.
The last gasp of greatness from XBox, you are missed, except the RROD that was lame, but amazing exclusives until the Kinect dropped.
I really enjoyed my X360, some great exclusives on it. Used to play the shit out ot Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, two masterpieces
Keeping BTB dead. They really need to make it ranked after the host tests are done. Assault not typical? What the hell is up with that bs?
I hate shotty snipers...that was easily the worse game in the beta
"it also means that players don’t get lost in the jump between games"
one of the problems with playing ranked matches in Gears...lovvve it
anyways
hard to believe Halo 2 still has the best matchmaking system out there
BTB was best played unranked, because btb ranked was way to much about the user and not the team, and shotty snipers? it was an amazing game in the beta.
I love snotty snipers. Love doing a close up noscope on a newb with a shotty. And I'm a big fan of BTB and played many very competitive games. Probably the most fun I had with Halo 2 after Hardcore.
the people that always annoyed me on halo 2(also graw 2 which i frequently play until recently at least) was that all people seemed to care about was rank. While it is cool and myself like leveling up its gets overboard.
A lot of times i do play just player matches in graw 2(which lowers your score in ranked constantly which is annoying) becasue for 1 you can invite people a lot easier and most of my friends online just play player matches. So my rank really isn't that high its only like a 4 or 5. Though somehow i can still compete with the 8s and 9s.
Really it was the same with halo 2(i think i was a 10 or 11). Plus well a a bunch of kids were always on. and cheating.
