While IGN's attention was turned to the Makuhari Messe in Chiba for the start of the Tokyo Game Show this past week, Sony released the PSP-2000 to the Japanese market. The system hit shops on Thursday, available in six colors, each costing 19,800 yen. Also available that day was a highly anticipated 1seg tuner, which turns the slimline PSP into a television.
So how did the system do? Sony Computer Entertainment announced on Friday that system managed actual sales of 130,000 units on its first day. This, according to the company, is a new high mark for the system following launch.
