PSP-2000 Tops 100,000 in Japan

While IGN's attention was turned to the Makuhari Messe in Chiba for the start of the Tokyo Game Show this past week, Sony released the PSP-2000 to the Japanese market. The system hit shops on Thursday, available in six colors, each costing 19,800 yen. Also available that day was a highly anticipated 1seg tuner, which turns the slimline PSP into a television.

So how did the system do? Sony Computer Entertainment announced on Friday that system managed actual sales of 130,000 units on its first day. This, according to the company, is a new high mark for the system following launch.
