Bulletstorm's Call of Duty parody 'Duty Calls' surpasses 1M downloads

EA, Epic, and People Can Fly released their Call of Duty parody Duty Calls just two days ago, and the free-to-play shooter has already surpassed one million downloads, currently sitting at a total of 1.25 mil. The experience is quite enjoyable, though tragically brief.

What are you talking about? COD has been lame since WAW. Some people have fun with it and thats cool but it's just not a quality franchise anymore.

And Duty Calls was a joke. It wasn't meant to be a personal attack on fans of the series.

I can tell you right now, after playing that Bulletstrom demo I will probably pass on this game, maybe rent it, but that doesn't make Duty Calls less funny.

What I found off is that they didn't release a demo of Bulletstorm for PC, but however, they gave a spoof 10 minute game.
Personally, with 700mb of space, wouldn't of it been logical to bundle the Bulletstorm demo with Duty Calls to represent the contrast that they were trying to show between Bulletstorm and tired, recent trends in FPS?

Why is it ridiculous? It's not the game's fault. It's an inanimate object...it's not the game's fault people hype it to unreachable levels.

I'm not a fan of the COD franchise anymore but really, Epic making fun of COD is a little like the pot calling the kettle black. The Unreal engine is past its prime which is fairly evident once you get past the glitz and glamor that is Bulletstorm. Hell, at least you can jump in COD.

My point is, nothing like being able to hide behind a bush for protection from gunfire. I want to see better damage and more realistic environments.

Look at the Bulletstorm demo. Kick that set of drawers out of the way but you can't destroy them. All that gunfire and explosions and the environment is untouched.

Oh yes, where did I mention SOCOM??? Did the makers of SOCOM release Duty Calls or use the Unreal engine?

Like you I have an opinion but unlike you I commented towards the engine and did not make it personal.

Tell you what, go play Gears again and tell me if it plays any differently the next time you play through.

I've been playing games since the 70's and I expect more. Just because its popular does not mean its the pinnacle of gaming. I would take the frostbyte engine over the Unreal engine any day of the week.
