Capcom runs PS3 and 360 versions of Devil May Cry 4 side by side in Tokyo, and debuts two new trailers. Content-wise, Capcom reps tell us both versions will have exactly the same gameplay, and have confirmed today at TGS that both the 360 and PS3 versions will run at a solid 60fps at 720p resolution.
At Capcom's booth at TGS today, both versions were playable practically side-by-side on more than two dozen screens, although the levels being shown were the same ones that have been displayed since last year. Once again, it was near impossible to discern between the two graphics-wise, although the PS3 did seem to have a sharper draw distance than the 360, particularly in the demo level's wharf environment. And in terms of gameplay control, both versions are once again quite similar.
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them
2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.
God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
Two Devil May Cry games have been delisted on Steam. As shared on X, formerly Twitter, by Wario64, Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition and Devil May Cry 4 are no longer available to purchase.
Bless the adorably all digital future! When it comes to PC games its not as big of an issue because there should always be another way to access single player games, but still, I hate to see anything get delisted.
Well, DMC4 special edition has a lot of issues to run from Steam.
I have to get a modded executable to even be able to run the game on Windows 10.
Not sure if it is because the game runs in DirectX10 or what, but it sucks they have not even tried to fix it.
Devil May Cry 4 launched 15 years ago today, bringing with it new character Nero. Has it stood the test of time?
Never liked it and I think I got it day 1.
Cheap Capcom design of half a game that you have to walk through twice.
5 isn't much different in that department. Encounter the same boss three times with three different characters? Endless warehouses or alien-like tunnels that all look the same.
I am relieved that 3rd party developers are starting to improve their PS3 knowledge. More and more games are now comparable to their 360 counterparts. Maybe this time next year PS3 owners will have the superior versions of multiplatform games.
360 versions looking better are old news now. Now we know if a 360 version looks better then the devs suck.
i have confidence capcom won't halfass the ps3 version but DMC4 is their 3rd game for the x360 but only their 1st for the ps3
so if they really make them equal that would be great cuz DMC is meant to be played with a ps controller
Yo guys The ps3 is the lead platform for dmc 4 it should look better for the ps3 but guess what its identical to the xbox version so that kind of hints at the xbox 360s power.
this game is gone be the best of its genre:D
