I actually paid 45 dollars which ensures that I will get ALL my demos for free. No it is actually pretty hypocritical for Sony backers (not all) saying that we shouldn't have to pay for LIVE but at the same time are willing to defend the $40 charge for a demo that should have been free. In the end if you buy the demo and full version you will end up paying $90+ for the same game. The real reason they are doing this is because they are light on headliner games this holiday season and GT won't be fully done until 2008. They put the thing out half done in attempt to try and claim it as another game in their inventory for holiday PR. This should have been a free demo because they should be making all their dev costs back when they sell the final version.

Let me simplify the statement...you're going to pay for the same game (or at least 2/3 of it) twice all for the sake of Sony adding one more game to their Xmas list. Tell me that Prologue is not going to be a subset of GT5 Full. Now if Sony would only charge $20 for Prologue owners to upgrade to GT5 Full when it comes out then that is a different story.

IN THE END THEY WILL MAKE THEIR DEVELOPMENT COST BACK ON THE FINAL PRODUCT (GT5 Full)...so you shouldn't have to pay for this.

That's got nothing to do with your beta comment. I've never paid for a beta and I've never paid for a demo.

You are right they are milking more money from the consumer but what company doesn't? All of these "special editions" and marketing ploys are just ways to get more money out of the consumer. This is nothing new and Sony certainly isn't the only one who has done it.

Each of the big 3 console makers get you in there own way. We could sit here and go back and forth for hours and not get anywhere. If you think it's a ripoff, don't buy it. I'm not even saying that I think it's right or wrong but don't act like it's some kind of atrocity that's never occurred in gaming history. We get nickle and dimed all the time (whichever console we play).

Thats not that bad a price, this game is being released on disk so that is probably the disk version price. And when you think about it theres more game here than motorstorm. Theres more cars, more modes, major Home intergration and maybe more tracks (i dunno how many tracks there are. And its got way better graphics. So thats a good deal tbh.

And Sony have kept saying this isnt a demo its a full game. and we dont know everything thats gonna be included yet.

The price is a little high true. $25 or $30 at most would have been more appropriate. But with all of its content calling prologue a demo is pretty unfair.

Its not a demo. Its a complete game. But, well, they say its a "prologue" of things to come. None the less, all features of a complete game are there. There is most likely a free "demo" as well.

For one thing i will pay 50bucks for this game and like most racing games online i will use 4-5 cars max! So your not paying for the GT5 massive car lot your paying for GT online 16ppl.

One more thing! You wont see the full version GT5 till next christmas if that. Its not like they pump these games out like EA and Madden or everything else sports. The guys that do GT are really fans of cars and it takes time and lots of effort to make all the sounds, specs, graphics come out perfect.

I'll be one of the guys that gets this game day one! I will race clean and i will enjoy myself.

It's not a demo. Besides, what do you call the Demo of GT:5 Prologue? The Prologue to the Demo? =P Come on, this is the exact same price as GT:4 prologue, and actually offers more content AND a full online community and multiplayer network. GT5 isn't going to be released until December 2008.

Is a game like this worth the money, Demo, Prologue, whatever, the answer is yes.

I would gladly pay $100 dollars for the complete game because in my opinion it's worth it. but instead to make it fair they decided to only charge $43 dollars for the Prologue.

-that's really not that expensive, look at what you get -the game runs at 1080p at 60fps. I don't know what more you could want, but they even gave you 16 cars on screen at the same time, people look at the graphics... seriously, the prologue is a complete game all on it's own almost. One car takes 2 months to render. And the graphics are stunning. It's surely worth $43 dollars.

Then add the complete game which is to follow and you will have what is indeed, true next gen video gaming. And a truly incredible gaming experience.

If you feel it's not worth it you can choose to skip the prologue and just get the game when it comes out, but why you would do that only heaven knows. This is the best looking graphics I've ever seen on a racing game. So truth be told it has to cost something.
